Some slight wording fixes to Settra & Khalida, plus penciling in Apophas. I've also added 'Khemri' as a subfaction keyword to the named heroes. Obviously in the long term Khalida should get her own Lybaras subfaction, but for the simplified phase one draft I'm only doing Khemri and Nehekhara, as a way to prevent mixing Nagash & Arkhan with proper Tomb Kings characters. Though in Canon Khalida did eventually bend the knee to work with Nagash, and she and Neferata even seemed to put their conflict behind them, which I thought was compelling character development, but regardless of whether we keep that animosity long term in the short term this project is aiming to reproduce rather than expand on the old tomb kings feel, so.

Either way, the Scarab Prince is one we're really going to need to come back to and rethink, as I don't think he really does anything worth bothering with right now, and what little he maybe does - harassing backfield fragile msu archer units maybe - isn't what he should be doing. I still think the he should be an Invocation (the prayer equivalent of endless spells) instead of a unit on his own IMO makes better sense with the fluff - ie liche priests saying a prayer to Usirian to send his assassin after an enemy hero is super evocative, while Apophas leading troops to battle personally super isn't

But whatever, that's for future bother. In the mean time, here he is converted to open office. The tomb king on foot scroll will eventually live under Apophas, I'll be working on that one next, and hope to have it done this week. A page a week in the new format is more or less the target I'm aiming for, though it might slow down a bit once I've finished converting the scrolls that were previously done in word, as I'll have to take additional time to find and edit photos of the minis.

On that topic, anyone who happens to have pictures of painted tomb kings unit - particularly pictures of games workshops studio minis or if not then pictures of your own minis but painted int the games workshop studio style and colors, let me know. The higher resolution the better.

Hello, I hope you haven't abandoned the project. I hope for a continuation. do you have a table with point values?

No point value tables. Was going to start with the current canon points and make adjustments from there based on testing once I had my collection based....

But as Old World started looking closer and closer to release my motivation for this project ebbed away to the point that it's basically zero at this point. I was well into rebasing my TK stuff to start play testing this project but now I'm going to be re-re-basing those same models to run them in old world instead, unless the canon old world base sizes make it viable to somehow do both, which they might.

At this point, I'm unlikely to work on this project any further until after Old World releases, but if you'd like I can send you the libre office files if you'd like to take it up yourself.

With The Old World's release, it's looking like I'm going to be retiring this project. To many of the units would have to be on awkward base sizes to be playable in both games, including:

Horsemen, Horse Archers. In TOW they look to be on 25x50mm squares. These could fit into adapters for the larger 75mm oval cavalry bases for AOS, but they want to be on the smaller, 65mm ovals.

ushabti, swarms, carrion. In TOW they look to be on 40mm squares. To be playable in both games, I'd have to put them on 40mm rounds in AOS. This is doable... but they really want to be on 50mm rounds. I suppose I could put the models on 40mm rounds and put those in rectangular unit trays for TOW but in donut adaptors for AOS? That sounds awkward.

Chariots, Stalkers, Necroknights: in TOW they're on 50x100mm rectangles. to be playable in both games, those rectangles would have to fit into 120 x 92mm oval adapters for AoS (like the ones here). Again, this is doable, but they really want to be on the 105x70 ovals for aos. 120x92 just takes up obnoxiously huge table space for units fielded in 3s or 6s, potentially even 9s in the case of chariots.

Sphinxes: These might be on the 50x100s, in which case the 120x92 adaptors work fine for these. But I think they're actually on th 60x100s, and there's no good adapter for that to any standard aos base size. I could separate them from their bases entirely, use pins or magnets or something to swap between bases. Could do this for all the above stuff too, but that's a lot of hassle.

Settra, Bone Dragon, anything else on 100x150mm rectangle: like the sphinxes (assuming 60x100), there's no easy adapter possibility here, so they'd have to be separate from their bases entirely, swapping between via pins or magnets. Again, much hassle.

.................

As easy as the infantry would be, the rest just seems like too much hassle. Honestly, I'm OK with my tomb kings just being playable in TOW, now that TOW is actually going to be a thing. I'm not exactly hurting for playable AOS Undead options, either.

So yeah, I am officially abandoning this project. Anyone who wants to use anything that was done here in their own efforts to update the AOS tomb kings rules has my blessing to do so.

I'm defiantly not rebasing, but they did say you don't have to. I'm casual enough that I'll just use what I have even if they're on rounds.

Honestly, while I've lost my interest in working on homebrew tomb kings for aos, the opposite project, a homebrew vamp counts arcane tome for the Old World, is suddenly seeming like a worthwhile undertaking.
