Hi, I just got into AoS and after buying the Cities of Sigmar army box and Soulblight Vanguard I have decided to go with Soulblight but I want my own "Dynasty". So I read about the lore about the wolf vampires and their "God Wolf "diety. So I was thinking that with my love for trees a "God Tree" which is vampiric in nature and a denizen of Shiyish.
To start out I brewed a bit of backstory:
1.) So story starts with a man on a cliffside staring out into the tree line and notices a pale tree in the midst, it wasnt the most tallest of trees nor did its pallid complexion make it stand out , in fact it had no physical characteristic nor its location in the forest was of particular note: and yet there it stood ... somehow catching the mans gaze and their was a feeling that it knew...
2.) The man decides to go into the forest to seek out the tree, the wind blows away the dead leaves reveal paths seemingly guiding the man.
3.) The man follows the paths for hours until the sun goes down and he is lost in the woods, fatigued, cold and hungry.
4.) Man is slowly losing his mind at this point but as he shuts his eyes his grasps a branch, he looks up and the Pale Tree stands in front of him, a lot larger than it appeared on the cliffside and completely visible in the pitch darkness of the woods. There are 3 slits in the middle of the tree resembling a face.
5.) A tree seed falls onto the mans hand and a tear of blood red sap flows from one of the slits and runs spiraling down the branch the man is grasping, the hungry man eats the red sap covered seeds and time skip becomes the first of the "Tree Vampires"
Blood Kiss and Characteristics:
1.) I am thinking that this "Dynasty" has a unique kind of "Blood Kiss" so the way it works is by ingesting seeds of these pale trees (There is more than one ill get to it in a bit)
2.) So the tree seeds can be planted into the ground growing into new pale trees but with no face like features but alternatively if igested (planted) in a person will turn them into a vampire.
3.) Whenever one of these vampires die a new pale tree grows with features resembling that vampires face.
4.) All of the trees and the vampiric kin are nourished by blood and sacrifices are made to nourish them.
5.) All the pale trees with faces including the "God Tree" and the new ones that are born from fallen vampires all share the ability to mysteriously vanish and reappear in seemingly deliberate fashion.
Aesthetics and Thoughts:
1.) So I am thinking of 3D printing some of these trees and using Blender to model them like I did with some other trees I printed, maybe I can model pale trees with faces with a base covered in corpses as gravesites.
2.) I am thinking back to the idea that maybe I dont want all my vamp characters turning into trees when they die to give them more continuality, maybe some of the trees turn back into vampires? Idk
What you guys think and lemme know if you have any ideas for aesthetics or lore
