Perhaps another weapon, this one a deployable or carryable one, would be a large scale sonic weapon that instead of firing of a single blast, does a continuous reverberating sonic wave in all or many directions, being used as an area denial weapon.

That's interesting but how would it work? I can imagine there would be trouble using that gamewise as well.

Does no one else have any more weapons suggestions?

that could be a barrage weapon; they work well for area denial, not so much in terms of stopping the enemy moving into it, but in terms of stopping them doing anything once they are there :konrad:

is the barrage thing a bad idea? ive been pegging it a bit hoping you might warm up to it, but will stop if told

The barrage does sound possible – how to you envisage it working. Perhaps it works similar to a grenade launcher? It fires are “primed” crystals which explode as they land. Being a bit smaller that the missile idea I had they could perhaps have the small blast template, but say 3 or 4 shots. Not sure on the strength but I would imagine not too much. That could be perhaps an assault weapon?

I was thinking also about a penetrator type weapon. Basically it fires rounds that have a crystal inside. The tips are hardened, designed to penetrate armour etc, and once inside the body / vehicle the crystals they explode with a shockwave. I would imagine they would likely cause instant death etc if they manage to wound.

aye i was thinking a low strength template weapon, that has an increased chance than the average of forcing a ld check for example...or we could have any unit wounded (even if the wound is saved) have to act as if its in difficult terrain?

i like the idea of the 'nade launcher, with an upsized version using the large template as a heavy support choice?

i would see the penetrator round being used as part of a more standard weapon system, rather than the exotic cythoric style weapons we have been discussing...perhaps it could be a special upgrade for autocannons, or a kind of custom built weapon for characters?

im less than fond of instakill weaponry myself, simply out of personal preferences rather than anything, so we could do with anoyher opinion
