Happy voting everyone!

Not easy to cast votes.
The best painted models are (once again) the ones made by Borgnine… but, for this round, i need to force myself from voting him, as I want to try to give my votes to someone else, just to see what happens. Sorry Borgnine, i believe you can understand my reasoning.

Later, I will reveal my votes.

EDIT:
now that the comp is over, I can say that i gave my votes to:
@robtion - despite the poor quality picture, i liked the very unique mini, and the glossy effect over the maiden; she really seems to be covered in muddy water.
@MasterSpark - i'm not impressed by the dead lady so white, but the chariot was superb and the mounts recall me the nightmares of the movie "Rise of the Guardians", and I was unable to resist.

as usual, i would have liked to have more votes, cause all the other entries were excellent quality.

Like Unas I will reveal my votes.

1) Mioum's wraiths. Such a simple yet effective scheme, and I have a big soft spot for those oldies.
2) Unas' mortis engine. Again a simple and effective scheme for the ghostery, and the muted spectral effect looks great. The entire thing is a spectrum of greys that play together perfectly. I think you could expand the basing idea further and include a border of dead grass between the gravel and green.

@Unas the slayer, I was really glad to finally get some good use for Arkhan's old chariot, although I had a tough time picking colours for it. The only thing I knew was that I did *not* want it to be made of bone (just too cheesy!) but the entire model was originally made with just that in mind. A dark metal and gold scheme looks good enough to me and fits well together with all the blood knights I'm painting for AoS. The horses are from the AoS Dreadblade Harrows which were doubly nice since the riders are not moulded on to the horses in any way, so it was an easy thing to just grab them.

Oh and about the whiteness... I'm certain it could be done to look better with shading and such but I can't paint a smooth white for the life of me, so I did it by first spraying corax white for coverage and then another, brighter spray on top. Done... it's just better that way. :)

Thanks anyone for the votes!

I've finally won my first challenge and, when i consider the usual staggering quality of the entries, I'm truly satisfied!

I agree with you, once I've completed it I've noticed that the basing could have been improved with a layer within the two extremes. An effect that i will try to introduce the next time i will build a similar thing.

Congratulations @Unas the slayer for the well-deserved win! Your engine was also my choice - that muted palette worked wonders and it's name fits it so well! Very good execution too - even if I would prefer to see at least some simple lines in that book ;D

My second vote went to @MasterSpark - that chariot looks so malicious, exactly how I envision an undead miniature :) Also, very good idea mixing such old kits with such new ones!

lol… that was my plan too… but I totally forgot about it! :innocent:

Now the book shows some obscure writing; at least i will have some arcane casting when i'll play it. ;)
