Been painting again for a while now after my Diablo addiction ttok a bit of a backseat, so I thought I'd post some more minis I'm working on at the moment.
I'm currently working on my second Iron Warriors unit (pics to follow in a couple of days), but in between I'm working on a new project.
Dunno if any of you are familiar with Infinity, but it's recently taken of at the local store (some 20 odd players so far) and as it's fairly cheap to get into I thought what the heck. :) Doesn't hurt that 10 models make up an entire army.

Anyway, I chose for the Military Orders whic are basically a sci-fi version of Teutonic Knights and have been slowly painting the first one up. Not much done yet except the legs, but I'm working on the tabbard right now. As far as paint scheme goes, I liked the Iron Warriors colours, so why change a winning strategy. :D

No display painting, but somewhere in between TT and display. Still lots of work, but I'm enjoying painting a different style of sculpt for once. :)

As always comments and criticism would be very much appreciated.

Cheers, Wolfie

Hey Santa. It's basically a fast paced skirmish game. Haven't played it yet, but I liked the miniatures anyway, so I went for it. I am happy that a starter box that costs 33€ basically gives you a basic army that can be expanded with 1 or 2 more models to a full sized force.

I bought this box as the Scottish Highlander themed starter pack was already taken by a friend and I didn't want the same ones. :)

This is the official picture of the box I bought:

ATM I'm looking forward to having my first battle. :)

Your metals look fantastic! Just the right balance between patina and shine. I really look forward to seeing more of these. Infinity has some great looking models, I've been thinking of picking some up just for painting. How do you like them, painting-wise?

@Cthulhu: Thanks man. I've always liked painting metals and I consider myself fairly good at them, so thanks. :D
As far as painting them goes they're definitely a challenge. They're advertised as 28mm on the box and unlike the GW minis they actually are 28mm. The biggest difference is the fact that the hands and heads are smaller as it isn't heroic (or whatever it's called) size. There's lots of fiddly bits on there and the detail is just amazing.
Another pleasant surprise was when I opened the box. Every model has an individual complaint code that can be used on their website in case something's wrong with the model. I haven't found any fatal flaws so far aside from the normal flash and mouldlines (not that many the quality of the casts is quite good), but it's nice to know they have a good policy towards miscasts.
So to summarise: NIce clean sculpts with lots of detail. :D

@Mal: Yes that is in fact the official picture. Meant to add that, but somehow forgot. :) I'll add it now.

Cheers, Wolfie

So it would be on par with some of the new games like malifaux and such. Nice I might need to see about this. Might be a fun game to get into for not having time.

I'll let you know what it's like once I have my first battle.
Anyway, I was working on the tabbard when suddenly I realised I could make this a flemish themed force. Leave it to me to not put yellow and black together with the colours of the Flemish flag. :D

At the very least it would give me the opportunity to try my hand at some freehand. :D

I've also got a progress picture. Been trying to blend using two brushes on the tabbard but not so pleased with it so far. Transitions are still much too rough. There's more contrast IRL, but the picture washed out most of it.
Also added in one of my WIP Chaos Marines for size reference and it really shows the difference in style compared to the Infinity sculpts. :)

Thanks for the review! Sounds like really great models then.

I think the tabard looks very good, perfect shadow color. If you're not satisfied with the blends, just go back with a little main color and smoothen the transition

Personally, I never got two-brush-blending to work for me. Using one brush and cleaning it between every stroke is easier, in my opinion. I'm definitively no blending master though, so take it with loads of salt…
