Okay, so for any Aussies on here, don't even bother saying it. You don't say it, and I won't bring up that certain cricket match...cough, underarm problem, cough cough...

First off, the New Zealand government fails so badly. Earlier on in the month the put the prices of tobacco up, a fair bit too. 50g roll your own went up by about $10. So now its $45!!! This made alot of people, myself included, fairly pissed off. Now, in the same month, they have the gall to announce that GST will rise by 2.5%. Petrol will rise by an estimated 5%, making it about 185c pl, food prices, anything and everything will go up. This sucks!!! Funny thing is though, that when I heard about this the first thing I though of, was "Oh, Fuck! GW is going to get even more expensive". But still, this sucks! I think GST was at 12.5%, so now this is getting ridiculous! I moved back to NZ from Aussie (Perth, WA, to be precise), and now its better if I move back??? This, for lack of better words, sucks! Uh, thats my rant for the week:mad2:

Wow, they are some huge increases - we get angry in the UK when things go up by 5-10p xD I always thought New Zealand and Australia were quite cheap places to live.

We were, are still compared to some places in the world, but now, I really don't know what is happening. There trying to push through several new acts. There's the Emissions Trading Scheme, with which they want less cars on the road, so vehicle prices will probably start to rise in the next few years, petrol will probably get even more expensive. There trying to push through the new Search and Surveillance Bill, which will mean that anything and everything you do online will be recorded and logged. Such as, for example, and text messages or phone calls made from a cellphone or online via Skype, for example. In addition to this, they will have more power to seize computer harddrives, make copies, and search through everything. This doesn't affect me in a negative way, but its still major invasion of personal privacy. There have been a few major protests against it. Its not exactly going to be a good year for New Zealand politics, and even with election in a few years or so, John Key might still get in. Simply because there is no-one else to vote for. Labor and National, our two major parties, are pretty one in the same. Sorry, I love politics. Its still horrid. I'll keep this updated with whats happening over here, with the main things, such as previously said.
Also, the crime rate is really on the rise. Especially in some of the major cities and towns. So, who wants to move to clean, green NZ?
