Thanks for these last comments guys :D

I've taken some more pictures of my army that I will now share. First up are two pictures of 5 zombies I don't think you've seen before, these were finished right before the tournament.

It's a bit cramped together, but I wanted it all to fit on the backside of my big army case.

As it is now I'm pretty happy with where I am with my VC army. Got a few loose ends to tie up but other than that I feel pretty much finished. Though don't worry, I've said that before. At some point I'm sure I'll add even more stuff to this army, but before that I would like to paint up most of the models I've got stacked up already.

Thanks for reading, feel free to comment :)

I've the urge to point you at some of my favorite armies because I know it'd be awesome seeing what you can do with them. What kinda bribe will it take to see Mad 'At's Chaos Dwarf Plog next?

But seriously, you're on a next level man. Brilliant work always.

@Nerevarine: Thanks you, I'm very glad you liked it :)

@Adam_Barrow: Thanks for the comment and your kind words. I think that bribe would have to be rather hefty, since I've got too much on my plate already. And anyways, tbh, I'm not that inspired by the chaos dwarf models. Plus I don't think they suit my playstyle. Though I could be convinced to pick up Warriors of Chaos sooner that I'd planned ;)

Looks really good. Pretty inspiring stuff!!! I would like to pick your brain some on your free hand stuff because it looks really awesome

It's funny, but why is it zombies are the most fun to paint? They are so comical, and so useless in 8th!
Do you feel at all that the individual character and attention you have given them adds a chaotic element to the army colour scheme?
Hope I can be as great and prolific a painter as you!

Hmm, been awfully quite here for too long, but now I got a small update =D

3 Vargheists are in the making. Finished building them last week and had hoped to paint them this week, but things got in the way. Hopefully they'll see some paint soon enough. What's funny is that I'm not even making these for my VC army, but rather for Lore of Undeath for my OnG :P

Anyways here they are:

Despite them being for raising purposes only I just couldn't live with their standard poses, so a lot of work has gone into reposing their wings. Am quite happy with them in the end.

You guys have any ideas on how to paint 'em? I'm thinking something similar to my varghulf (white skin and red hair) which is insidently pretty close to the 'eavymetal's way of painting them. The question is the wings, but I guess I could go with some close to the 'eavymetal's there too. Thoughts?

Very nice poses. I especially like the one in the middle. I personally think that dark grey or dark blue with some blood splatter around the mouth would look very sinister and evil. Dark blue would fit your undead imo.

Though if they are for OnG you could do some other color. Maybe white and add some cool orc tattoos to represent the shaman not quite doing it right and lighter up the mood. Just some brainstorming here hehe.

Not a bad idea with the blue. Might go with something like that one the wings. I feel the models are too similar to my varghulf to paint them very differently, but blue wings and possibly some other details could work.

Since everything else the shaman will be raising won't have any OnG connection I'll probably skip that. And who knows, one day I might want to use them for my VC army too.

Thanks oblivi :)
Quite a lot of work to change the poses I'm afraid. So unless you really dislike the standard poses it's nothing I'd recommend =/

Anyways, got a WIP pic of the painting process for ya guys:

Decided against the blue wing membranes. I'm just much more comfortable with brown hues, and I like the natural look it gives them. That tattoo idea though might have some merit after all @Hardt von Carstein, got a specific symbol in mind that would actually tie them to both the OnG army and the VC army, so I might just add that to one of the vargoyle's wings.

I think you made a wise choice, he looks really good and "natural" I think. The blue details make a nice contrast.
I look forward to seeing what symbol you will put on him. Make it look good!

While taking pictures of my hats I snapped some of what's currently on my assembly workbench for VC too. More stuff mainly intended for use with the Lore of Undeath.

2 Cairn Wraiths:

And 2 crypt horrors, built from spare parts from the vargheist kit and torso fronts made with instant mold. These two will be used with my two zombie ogres acting unit fillers in the zombies to make a unit of 4, just in case I ever feel like raising something tough.

@Theerteen: Thanks =) I'm actually really proud of myself for the last couple of weeks, lots of smaller projects being finished. Btw, you saw the zombie giant before you took your leave of absence?

Regarding the vargheists I now have an update on them. They are finishes! Except for static grass. Check them out bellow:

And the symbol on the vargoyle's wings. Can anyone spot how it ties to my OnG army? ;)

It's painted too look like a scar, like someone has carved it in. Not sure if it was successful in that aspect but it looks pretty cool anyways I think. Overall I'm happy with these. They were relatively fast to paint and fits quite well with the army. I think I went a little bit overboard with the veins, and I'm pondering to add dark spots on the edges of the wings and around the shoulders, like on the 'eavy metal ones, but might not e worth the effort nor the risk of ruining them.

Anyways, comment and criticism much appreciated as always =)

Thanks @Theerteen :)

I've started working on my final thesis so will sadly be spending a lot less time around the forum. This mainly means I will be seen less around here, but I will try and keep my plogs updates and I'll still be reachable through PM and @s if anyone needs me.

Anyway, time for the update! Pics are a bit dark or too bright, was bad photography weather.

Here are the two Crypt Horrors all painted up. Tried to do the same skin colour as on my zombie ogre fillers, as those will be my other two crypt horrors:

Here are my two new cairn wraiths, along with my old one since he got a new paintjob on his cloak.

From left to right we have: Mr. Happyface; The Laughing Key Keeper and The Faceless One.

Next up is an old Necrarch Vampire I've painted up. This is both for my coming 6th edition armies and for another reason which will be made clear soon:

In the pictures above I've used Cairn Wraiths as casket guards. I'm not sure if that is how it will be in the end, I'm pondering either Grave Guards or zombies. What do you think?

Any C&C appreciated :)
