I have been curious lately about how large some of my armies have grown over the last 2 years so i started adding up some points last night, starting with my O+G army which is my biggest. I have a goal of collecting 10,000 points in the 5 main armies i am playing/collecting(O+G, VC, WoC, DE, LZ) and wanted to tally up some points to how close i am to getting to 10k.

My VC are currently at about 12,000, but not all painted. Game legal and painted, about 8,000. for 40k, I have a company-sized Salamanders army (5000). But that has no vehicles, except land speeders. In the house there are also 12000 pt O&G, 7000 pt HE, 7000 pt Dwarves, 7000 pt Skaven, 1500 pt Ogres, 7500 pt Tyranids, 3000pt Dk Eldar, 2000 pt Black Templars, 2000 pt SM, 3000 pt IG, and 1000 pt Tau. We've been at this a very long time! Here's some of the O&G before they were painted.
Daemons of Chaos 5000 points surpassed.

I'd love to have a nice daemons army one day...it would seem the daemons have been avoiding me in the collections i have bought in the last couple of years!!

Alright i have tallied up my undead horde and the points are lower than i thought!! It seems the count is around 6k...lots more to go there!!
Ive also done a Lizardmen count as well. I thought i had a 10k army there(err what i was told when i bought the huge collection with lizzys in it) but even with some other additions i have around 8,000 points barebones...sweet!!
Have to get out the Dark Elves WoC and do a tally except i dont have army books for those two yet.....might have to break out brettonia and dwarves for a tally.
VC are roughly 10-15 K including kitted characters. Painted is around 500 points. Need to get working on that. I am pretty much done in VC minus the new models. I want a Mortarch and some monstrous infantry.
TK are sitting at right around 4K, and I only plan to get a few more models to shore up an alternate playstyle or two.
I've got 2K points of Necrons mostly painted (Cuz painting black is like, super easy), and don't plan on getting a ton more but who knows? That Monolith is a great centerpiece....
I've got around 2K points in Dark Eldar, which are my babies. I'm painting them up and they will be my most challenging paint job to date.
I own the 'base' faction units for every base faction in Warmachine. I can field probably about twice to three times a battlebox for each faction, whatever those points come out to now. I've got considerably more Cryx as they're my personal favorite army.

I've got a lot of models. I'm only seriously considering adding to my Vampire and TK model count however.

painted? about 500 points of chaos marines. That's a little misleading, though, as I sold off about 1,000 points each of painted vamp counts and chaos marines this past year due to changing my color schemes and not wanting to repaint stuff I had already painted.

Owned, but not yet assembled? Well, that's almost every core model I have, so I can't really field anything larger than 4k, but I can shift things around, or go full vamp counts, w/ a terrorgheist, 4 wraiths, a couple wight kings, and two boxes of horrors/gheists that I haven't figured out what I'm doing with yet. Plus Nagahsh, of course. Once he's ready (not at all soon), he'll be replacing the mounted vamps and black knight bus in the above for my 'standard' 4k list.
Plans for expansion: well, that's limited by my budget, and by the fact that I want to get at least a couple thousand points painted before adding much more, but the short list for purchases once I'm back in the market is:
2 more boxes morghasts
about 40 skeleton archers to fill out core some, allowing me to field even larger armies or just move the zombies in my current lists into summoning reserve. I don't like the TK models, don't know if I'd try to convert VC skellies, or use mantic skelly archers, or what.
Heirotitan - converted out of what I don't know - and maybe a second mortis engine
another 3 boxes of undead cav, plus a lich priest, to make 3 more black knights, 10 hexwraiths, a mounted wight king, and a mounted lich priest.

assorted other stuff (terrain, objective markers, unit fillers, VC and TK units I like aesthetically but don't have yet like corpse carts and sphynxes, expanding my ghouls and grave guard to proper hordes of 40, etc etc)

My VC collection is probably about 5,000 points, mostly assembled. My goal is to build a army to represent all of the Undead themes that I like. So that means my "regular" vampire horde, led by the dread lord Vladimir von Blutsauger. Next is a ghoul army featuring lots of ghouls, crypt horrors, Tbats, and led by a ghoul king. Then a necromancer army with lots of spirit hosts, hexwraiths, banshees, etc led by a master necromancer. There's a lot of crossover since most armies make use of wolves, skeletons and zombies though, so it's not quite as simple as just adding all the armies together.

I can make a legal 15k list in VC, about 6k legal in Lizardmen and 5.5k legal in Ogres.
Goals? Maybe get my VC up to a legal 20k list? I dunno, will see.
I want to get an Anubis themed Hierotitan.
Still need 2 Mortis engines and 20-40 grave guard.
Got 50 Grave Guard, 60 Skeletons, 10 Black Knights, 1 Wight King and a Necromancer.
I aim to collect quite a fair few more models including a mounted Vampire, probably one on foot too. I am tempted to add some zombies or ghouls and dire wolves. I also want a Terrorgheist and some Vargheists possibly.
There was a time when I had seven and a half armies, the seven being vamps , tomb kings, the three elf races, beastmen and the half being about 1000 points if brets. The full armies each had at least 3k points with vamps and high elves being close to the 6k side.
Now, I'm rebuilding so I just have an undead legion with about 4500 points to work with.
My goal is to get another 3k or so so tat I can field what I like without having to proxy.
I'm also building a dark elf list for comped tournament play, hoping to reach the 3k mark at least in regards to their number.
About 10k dark elves slaaneshthemed. painted,
40 witches 60 executioners(metal)20 sisters 15 warlocks 45 corsairs(metal)
10 masters on dark steed
4 pegasi characters, 2 hydras 1 kharibdyss, 2 cob, 1 shrine and 4 chariots awaiting paint and some assembly. Then its finished. Goal is to be able field just about any combination.

50 Skeletons, 5 Dire wolves, 10 Heavy Cav, 5 Light Cav, 40 Grave Guard, 5 Hex Wraiths, 2 Harbringers, 3 Custom Spirit Hosts, 1 Custom Casket of Souls, Wight King, 2 Lahmian Vampires, Isabella, Blood Dragon on Zombie Dragon and a Coven Throne.
Will be building the Mortarch of Blood and 2 Archai.
My Goals for the army though … I'd be happy with 10k i guess.
I started collecting Undead about 20 years ago. Been adding slowly to that army over the years, beyond the split of Vampires and Tomb Kings, and now back to united Undead Legion.
I have about 7-8 thousand points , with almost every entry available, save for some odd stuff (mainly lacking the "new" unit types introduced over the last 5 years or so)
Just this winter I actually grabbed the last bunch of black knights and vampire hero for assembly and painting, and then I am finished. It feels great! some 20 years of collecting, finished! Felt a bit nostalgic, seeing how that seemingly endless pile of unopened boxes and unpainted miniatures were now all assembled and painted. And the otherwise overflowing bitbox was now almost emptied, the odd remains donated to my brother for whatever he needs or wants. No more Undead coming.
A bit funny too, since just this week I feel sooo finished with them. Just wanting to get rid of them, in favour of my small selection of about 2000 points of elite warriors of chaos (nicely contained in a small box). Don't know what the future will bring, but maybe I will turn to the gods of chaos instead. But I'm pretty sure no more collecting.
@ulrik I'm on that tip too. I'm three boxes of Black Knights and 5 Hexwraith steeds away from having all the VC I'll ever want. It's a killer feeling. Like there's a light in the tunnel suddenly. Elbereth gilthoniel!
I actually told my brother never again to give me anything related to warhammer. feels sooo good to be finished. no more assembly, no more basecoating and so on. phew. Now, i'm going to read a good book.
