My name's Rob, I'm a long time collector with a relatively short gaming career under my belt. I've always loved fantasy and horror stories and from the Fighting Fantasy books and Heroquest I gravitated into 40k, Space Hulk, Necromunda and finally Warhammer.
I shelved wargaming a couple of times over the years due to money and time constraints, other priorities and failed starts, but my love was rekindled in this current incarnation by a group of friends who play RPGs and the newer wargames like Warmachine, Infinity and Dropzone Commander. A new and awesome FLGS called Warboar in Bromley opened and reintroduced me to the old guard in my area, and then the 3rd edition of Space Hulk came along! I bought a couple of White Dwarfs and chanced upon a brilliant VC army building article in Issue 367 with a blue-grey and red colour scheme based on the penultimate army book cover, and it was an inspiration for me.
The End Times finally recombined the two Undead factions, inspiring my most ambitious collection ever, which I'm now in the process of refining down and completing along with a small Elf coalition and an Empire mercenary company based on the Knights Panther as a Renaissance pike and shot, low fantasy force.
I'm loving the escapism and new tools and options we have for modelling and sourcing parts, missing GW Mail Order like crazy, and finally hoping to achieve the seemingly impossible... a completed army!
The recent developments in 40k have proven a massive distraction and I'm now elbow deep in a Space Marine crusade, Genestealer Cult, winter themed Imperial Guard and Goliaths that can ally both ways, not to mention taking on a multi level hive terrain board for Shadow Wars, Infinity and 40k!
