For your lord to be able to take lore of death you need to give him forbidden lore so that he can choose other lores otherwise he has to take lore of vampires.

Depending on the dwarf list you could find urself loseing those 4 blood knights pretty quickly due to shooting :( What are you giving your BSB? perhaps look at giving him regen banner and putting him with those blood knights seeing as theyre a lot of points to be losing early on in the game

i agree that we may have the easiest time dealing with purple sun but when your opponent takes of 30-60 models a turn it kinda puts me on the back foot. If im devoting my whole magic phase to ressing up the models which i have lost last turn then im not really able to use things like van hels.

That is an interesting idea with the skellys although i find that the suicide vampire is very important due to the power of the magic in 8th.
