If not getting hit is your concern then I think Beguile is better because you don't want your Lord stuck in a challenge. You want him pushing out as much smash as he can each round.

This FAQ was the best thing to happen to VC. No more Spirit Leeching Mortis Engines or Terrorgheists because they're all LD10. I have never been so happy for an FAQ before.

They should help a lot. Terrorgheists are brutal.

If you plan on getting into 8th edition grab 20 more ghouls, 10 or so Black Knights, 8 Crypt Horrors (easy conversion from Ogre Bulls) and finally 2 Mortis Engines or 2 Terrorgheists. Competitively speaking... Of course.

Combining the books would piss me off. I'm holding my Bretonnians hoping they'll get an update. I want to play bad ass pageantry knights. Not hippy elves.
