Your experiments with color are stunning. I personally like the version with the darker bones above the interior burst, but I think you could go even further with the effect. But as I said in the Show Us Your Etherials thread, your coloring is beautiful. Love your work.

I think for ease of sculpting, putting some scraps of fur over the reins would be easiest. Are their Dark Elves in your fluff? If so, you could also hypothesize that the orcs stole the cold ones from them, so they already had reins on and maybe just break 'em, shred 'em, like the orcs didn't...

I'm definitely considering some sort of pinning/support for my Mortarchs. I glued it together per the instructions but it seems pretty floppy.

Smart of you to leave the legs unassembled! I saw that in the instructions and said, "Nah, how hard could it be to paint them AFTER assembly?" I'm regretting that decision now. Love the background on Graymane! Nothing like using a rival's dead models against them in a campaign, MWA-HA-HA!

Orcs are done minus the bases, which will get replaced with clear acrylic ones once I complete the Warhammer Quest classic set. Also, if anyone has a bunch of Warhammer Quest skaven you're looking to get rid of, I seem to have lost mine... :) More pics at my blog.

Truly inspirational! It's very uniform in its lack of uniformity ...? Meaning that it all certainly looks built by orcs. And I love stealing ideas back from Warcraft since they stole everything from GW, mwa-ha-ha!
