Only one of those I have used is cairn wraiths as I think a unit of 3 can be a decent threat for only a few points. I mostly used them in the old book though... maybe a few times in the new but we have gotten som many new toys so it's harder to justify them now even though I kinda like them.
I...

Yeah you have to test. There are alot of stuff I think is kind of wierd considering undead, poison, restraining pursuit etc. but that's they way it is.
Yeah it seems to me it's real use is to get better IoN. I find it a nusiance to try to keep it with the army though and the more units you want to keep close by for the bubble the harder it gets. When you have general, CC and ME and need to keep them all togehter with your combat blocks to make...
Dunno about dick move but it sounds kinda boring.
Might work I guess but it sounds too dependant on magic for my taste. Any time I have tried to rely on magic it always fails me.

Yup, this is why I don't really like zombie tarpits.
Against alot of the units that you fear enough to want to tarpit you simply loose zombies too fast. A loss of only 10 zombies will often cost you 10 more to crumble. Thats 40 zobies in one game turn...
IoN can buy you some time but I...
@najo
I have tried them a couple of times otherwise I would not say I have a hard time getting them to work.
I have never been satisfied with the result. Last time I felt that they would be useful but in the end the enemy positioned himself in such a way that I could not easily move through him...
I agree with The Sun King. It simply is not clear. You can argue either way and both views have merit.
There is also something called unusual attacks I think but I don't have my book with me and I don't recall exactly what they are.
Perhaps it's unusual shooting attacks?
Someone can check it.
@hairyjeff
Yes the skaven one and skeleton one shared the same set of shields I think. You got emblems for skeletons, skaven and... something else. I think I still have some of the emblems lying around.
The old skeleton kit came with round shields, not exactly like that one though.
An easy solution would otherwise be to make them yourself with thin sheets of balsa and plasticard for the metal trim and studs if you want that.
I'm not so sure this is right either as we only use the crews toughness in close combat, not sure how to handle hits that are neither ranged nor CC.
It's not specified in the rules imo as there is no default case.
It says use machines T for ranged and crews T for CC.
Or does some kind of ruling...
Like the necro sphinx seems fair. In fact it was the first thing I thought about when I saw that ability... thats what master strike should have been.
Still not sure how much I would use it but I'm sure it would see some use at least.
