Anyone but me that think the way this works combined with the fact that they can't march unless the general is near makes them very hard to use effectively?
You don't specify what unit uses th BotWD but generally I would just send a tough unit with mundane attacks like crypt horrors against it. Relying on getting a spell of is generally bad imo but having to rely on getting two off is horrible. Sure try it out but don't base your entire strategy on...
@der vued
Ah I missed the part about him using a great weapon . I wouldn't use that on a bsb either.
I would give him additional hw instead as s5 should be enough to wound the kind of troops I would want him fighting.
If you want him to kill more you could use red fury and the asf sword, can't...
Yeah greatweapon GG är good but they are very expensive especially since you need the banner. I often leave them at hobe because of this.
You can get a big unit of crypt horrors for less points.
But what about tactics Johnny?
I feel you need to plunge deeper into this and really push the thread to it's limits.
You never know what might come of it if we can reach the apex of this discussion.
Unless you have something specific in mind I would loose Dread Knight. Firstly I think it's not really needed as you already have pretty good WS with rerolls from QB and secondly you don't want to be forced to issue/accept challenges with your rather squishy vampire bsb. Thats alot of points...
I often use something like Option A when I want a fighty vampire hero to add some punch to a skeleton unit. Opal amulet and potion of foolhardiness are optional imo.
Umm no. As nothing is said about it in the flying rules we are left with the default rules. Why would we treat it like any kind of terrain?
The reason you can fly over terrain and units with a fly move is that it specifically says you can in the rules, but as templates or vortexes are not...
I agree with the sun king. I don't think this is mentioned in the rules at all so it works the same whether you are flying or not. Everything touched by a template is considered to be under it, there is no goin over.
To be fair you would have your 3 10 man units spread out a bit more as you have 30" range on he bows... there would be no way for you to just reform and charge another unit. It should take at least one turn of moving before another charge could be attempted if played correctly.
I agree that WE...
@LordTobiothan
According to your own logic he is both the original model and a hydra and nowhere is it mentioned which of the two statlines to use. And you even said before that base rules have precedence when I said that the new rules should override the old ones.
Don't you realise how...
@LordTobiothan
Transformation of Kadon does not mention statline, now you are making the assumption that just because he is now a hydra he get's a hydras statline. See you do the same thing.
People still used MSU in 8th before the new book and most likely will now too. The thing that could have killed it is loosing the mo movement pentalty to shooting but the arrows fix that so it should still be viable.
One advantage of having 3 units of 10 is that you can still shoot with the...
