I agree that the writers of the lore books didn't use the infinite realms idea to any extent. But, you know who did? Black Library authors! Every book had a brand new city and region of a realm created out of scratch for the purposes of the story. It could take the time to develop in the story...
Just jumping in here to say I totally agree. I have been just playing 3e casually since 4e came out as I'm pretty disappointed in it. But only a short while now until 5e anyway so maybe they'll ramp it back up again.
I watched Always Board Never Boring's YouTube channel and it and it looks a bit disappointing. The main issue I see is that the characters all have exactly the same attack profile. No more specialized dice for attacking either, it's all D6s again. It actually seems like a step down from Cursed...
Just popping in to say I am perpetually heartbroken every time a new vampire model comes out and it's not a Vlad and Isabella model. They were my go tos in 8e and I love the idea of them loving each other even if they're both terrible otherwise. I am happy to see Nagash and Neferata get things...
I completely agree that the Warhammer Quest models all look like The Old World. It really seems to be like that was the plan and then management saw some decrease in ToW sales numbers and changed the plan at the last minute and shoe horned them in to AoS instead. I would have loved some classic...
I don't think frequent updates are what's missing here. The issue is the power creep of Cathay and the lack of test play before creating the legacy books in the first place. Ideally everything would be pretty well balanced from the beginning. But they didn't really do it that way. I'm not sure...
I only started at the beginning of 8e. But it used a lot of older books at that point. Still, if you think that's not enough background to say it's the best edition, that's fair.
Best edition in my opinion. The problem with 8e was cannons, magic and being shot off the back of monsters. All those things were addressed in ToW, and I love what they did to strengthen infantry in the latest errata. Very pleased with it!
Old World for me. Although I also play some Age of Sigmar and dabble in other rulesets like One Page Rules occasionally as well. Regardless of what I play it's not very often 😅
Thanks! I didn't have Tomb Guard before the rerelease so they are new and then in the above picture the herald there is the new named character.
In addition to that I did buy the Tomb King on Bone Dragon. Fantastic model. Really enjoyed painting it. Haven't played it too much as it's very...
I haven't played Expedition 33 yet, but it's on my wishlist. I generally don't play games until they are a couple years old. I'm currently playing Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader and am really loving it. One of my favorite games was Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, so it's good to see more games in...
The big difference from 8e is that Vampires are very expensive for what they do whereas Necromancers are fantastic. Put a couple necromancers in a group and resurrect things constantly and you've got a good deal. Especially with the new rules which buff infantry. Here's the latest game I played.
