It's time once again to ferret out those murderous vampires in a new VAU - Vampires Amongst Us. A cross between Cluedo and a roleplay, sometimes gory and often hilarious! Find out more and sign-up! here.
I get that that's what they can do, I play DE. What I'm asking isn't what does it mean, I'm asking why is that OP? Yeah sure Witchstars get some more attacks and some S5 guys are rerolling ones to wound. I think that Warriors of Chaos and Skaven and especially Ogre Kingdoms need a hit with the...
I believe so. An overrun into another unit counts as a charge in the next combat, whether or not that combat happens immediately or next turn. With frenzy you overrun on the charge always, so I would say yes.
Maybe they just wanted an army capable of pretending to be able to maybe come close to competing with Ogres. :P In all seriousness though; the prowess rules being added together and a level two wizard knowing all the spells doesn't seem so OP to me. Yeah they could have done better on ET:K...
There is no new "dispel counts as failed." What people are essentially saying is that it needs to be houseruled/FAQ'd/errata'd so that instead of the magic phase being turbo mega ultra f*ck the world spam it's only super spam.
I agree on everything except the no loremaster thing. I think they should and the pre existing loremasters should get re rolls like it is, but a wizard can't cast more spells than he has wizard levels. So if I am a level one wizard and I cast fireball, I can cast it until it is dispelled, but no...
@Nicreap Yes, casket in a VAMPIRE army is very good. What I was referring to is Tomb Kings, however, not VC or UL. Taking a casket is one of the only ways TK stand a chance at all, period. Like you said: they rely on their magic phase, need as many dice as possible, and even then it's...
I disagree. Deathstars break the game as equally as super magic. Avoidance Wood Elves are just as bad. Triple Bloodthirsters. Shadow covens. Light covens. Phoenix/Dragon lists. Banner of the World Dragon. Four Terrorgheists. In fact the only army I can think of that don't already have some kind...
YOU were the one lol I forgot who and where I saw it or else I'd have credited you :) And @Infernal Skull we are being facetious and demonstrating why the "rules by exclusion" argument doesn't work. I assume you are as well, but just to be clear for everyone :)
Page 32 of the BRB defines a failed casting attempt as failing to meet the minimum casting value, therefore a successful casting attempt is successfully meeting the minimum value. That's the definition of casting attempt, and in that sentence is no mention of dispel attempts, so lije @Infernal...
And here's my thing with this: it's not unlimited. Purple sun can only be cast once per phase regardless of End Times rules, and with he d6 dice limit on casting it's very improbable to go off, and less likely to be IF'd. The Herdstone only gives as many dice as you have Wizards within six...
Can you show me where in the Vampire Counts Army Book where it explicitly states that I cannot field a Bloodthirster in my army? It only states that I can use the units in that book in a Vampire Counts army, not explicitly stating that I can't usr anything else. Warhammer rules don't work by...
I play Tzeentch Daemons, Beastmen Herdstone, and Periapt/Casket VC all the time. What this post said to me is "Let's take away what you think is fun so I can win more often." I shouldn't be limited on dice generation and spell casting when that's what I built my list to do. Armies have these...
Three. The rule says "The rules for spell generation on page 490 of the Warhammer rulebook are no longer used. You must still select the Lore(s) of Magic each of your Wizards is going to use when you choose your army, but do not have to generate the spells that each Wizard knows. Instead, all of...
You may well be right, @Archamedius . The rules do say that you choose your lore but no spells, so any wizards that can choose multiple lores are loremasters of those, and characters like necromancers and vampires are only loremasters of the lore they choose out of their 2/3/however many...
It's most often random, so I think using End Times magic you would have to designate which 5 spells belong to his wizard levels and which 4 belong to his books. Roll a d10 (rerolling 10s) to decide which spell he forgets. If he took, say, the signature from light and no other spells, and he lost...
It seems to me that you would RAW lose the spells that you chose beyond Nagash's five wizard levels. So in effect you forget four spells like normal if your books are destroyed, and then look at what lores you still know spells from. Since Nagash is level five with five lores, I assume he still...
To my understanding a draw is when each side has insufficient pieces to check-mate their opponent, while a stalemate is when one side or the other has the enemy King in check literally every turn, and they can do nothing but move back and forth or whatever it is. That to me shows the board state...
The best fix I saw was to give more than half a point for a forced stalemate instead of treating it as a draw. That way if a player gets black and forces the stalemate and then gets white and wins it shows he is the better player and results in a win by best play for him instead of a draw.
However if you're playing 2/3 then someone gets to go first twice but if you're playing 2/2 and it's a tie with each side winning when they get white you have to play another round but if the white side wins again then the other player has to get to play as white and if that's a win then blah...
