i am atm using a lord with these 2 items and HoC and was wondering which items weapon skill 2 use. my friend and i agreed to roll and see which item takes preference was just wondering what everyone else thinks.
a) If you look at the VC FAQ, it tells you that a Vampire projecting a WS with HoC onto another Vampire with Accursed Armour (henceforth AA) then the AA Vampire gets the full WS (without the -WS penalty). ie. the WS assignment can take place after the WS modifer.
b) If you look to the BRB FAQ, it mentions that the Fencers Blades are ALWAYS on. Even outside of combat. ie. whenever you "check" what the WS is of the model with Fencer Bladers... it should be 10.

Wait I always heard that you can't use the Fencer's Blades to impart the Helm of Command bonus. I thought that got FAQ'd?
Or not! I just re-read this (below) and you are right! That is awesome.
"Q: When does a weapon that gives a bonus to a characteristic
give that bonus?(p4)
A: Most weapons, including magic weapons, state when the
bonus is given. For example, a model with the Fencer’s
Blades will always have Weapon Skill 10 whilst a model with
a great weapon will only have +2 Strength when striking an
enemy in close combat. When a weapon does not say when
the characteristic bonus applies, then it only applies when
striking, or being struck, in close combat."
