Greetings my fellow Lords of Darkness,

As some of you know, I run a small magazine by the name of the Watchman and have been keeping a close knit relationship with Carpe Noctem. Blah blah blah...

I wanted your help in developing an alternate army list or two for the undead. I have some ideas for them, including development of the Vampiric line of Cathay and creating a fully realised army for the Lord of Undeath himself - a full army of Nagash.

Would anyone be interested in developing these?

Could be fun.

Basically reviving the old undead with catapults, mummies etc?

I'll give them some thought.

It is possible that something official may come out that is Nagash-related (maybe around the release of our book). His return has been hinted at for some time in the novels/fluff, etc.

I would seriously want to think about it.

Although I'm opposed to anything coming from Cathay, Nippon or Ind (OK are the farthest the world should get!), I guess I can have some fantasy thoughts running about.

Would you like a separate forum for that? It would be an interesting concept. :)

I think we had some Cathay Vamp stuff on the old forum. It was written by the Black Library boys, but in the pdf they stressed that it was heavily non-canon and just wrote it for the hell of it (or something).

I think I have the pdf in the deep dark recesses of my laptop - I'll have to dig it up.

It's not offical fluff by any means, but a good 3-4 pages worth of Vamps in Cathay stuff so you could work from there.

EDIT-

Ah ah!

yeah "Count" me in lol X) ninja vampires in Cathay hehe... how about a version of Army of Sylvania where the units are all alive well at least the ones that you begin the battle with... But using necromancy you can add undead models to live units like undead levy to live levy etc would be wicked!

i did make up some rules for nagash, that were on the website's former incarnation... they were pretty balanced, and actually had some pretty serious playtesting done to check how good he was, the first version was more than a little overpowered...

uhm he basically works out like a Greater Deamon of Undead, with some serious bonuses to spell casting...i think he comes out at a whopping 1200 pts!!

i'll re-post the rules if you like

Alright, I propose:

Lords:
Master Necromancer
Wight King (like Krell, not as powerful as a Count, but a good combat character nonetheless)
Revenant (Powerful type of Banshee, Spirit hosts are no longer 0-1 when a Revenant is selected.)

Heroes:
Necromancer
Wraith
Wight Lord

Core Choices:
Zombies
Skeletons
Ghouls
Dire Wolves

Special Choices:
Grave Guard (May be upgraded to Nagash's Nobles for ??pts, get full plate armour and +1 Attack when upgraded)
Black Knights (May be upgraded to Nagash's Nobles for ??pts, get full plate armour and +1 Attack when upgraded)
0-1 Spirit Hosts
Fell bats

Rare:
Banshee
Skeletal Ogres (Exactly as you think, dead Ogres)

Special Characters:
Nagash the Black
