Greetings, gentlemen(and ladies, if any). My question to you is as implied by the title of this thread: What do you think about sticking your nose into a WFO game being played by others if you know they're playing something wrong?

How this is taken is going to be up to the individual players in question. I'd say it'd be best to ask the players in question if you notice something very wrong before offering your clarification.

Personally, I'd prefer to have errors pointed out... my gaming knowledge used to be very good, but sadly I've not played an actual tabletop game of fantasy/40k in over a year (I simply don't have the time)... so my rules knowledge has become a little rusty.

Also, as a mod (although not a rules mod) if the players request mod assistance then what the (rules) mod decides as a ruling is the law!

Personally, I always like feedback on what I'm doing wrong. I'm a tactics mod, but I also know that I'm not perfect, and every mistake that someone points out in a WFO game is one I won't make in the future! But then again, that's just my personal opinion, and you've no real way of knowing how others are going to react. I would suggest politely stating either in a PM or in the game thread itself that you found a mistake, and you're not sure if you should mention it.

Oh, and rules mods get the final word, you say? Muahahahaha..... :konrad:

I wouldn't have any problem because if i've made a mistake, it's easier to correct if pointed out sooner rather than later. If I were to win a game and then found out that I had an unfair advantage then it just takes away any sense of victory. Equally if an opponent beat me with an advantage then I would feel quite annoyed. Perhaps there could be a specific moderator for checking mistakes made in game to prevent the mistakes, and stop people feeling awkward?

Having a specific rules mod might help, especially with some of the more obscure rules, like emergency disembark. I've seen so many people mess that up.

I'm happy to have people point out mistakes I make during games. I'm certainly not perfect, so it just makes sure everything's as fair as possible.
