heya. converting a vamp to be my namesake atm, and im trying to extend his cape, make it a bit more stereotypical and billowy (i adore the billow ^_^) and, to be honest, given my inexperience in using greenstuff as any more than filler or for hair its proving difficult. if anyones done this kinda thing before and can advise youd be my favourite person of the week, and i might not be ashamed to put up a picture of him when hes done hehe.

Without seeing the actual cloak I can only give a generalized advice. If you are looking to extend an existing cloak, I would make a batch of green stuff, roll it into a log the same width as the cloak end then roll it out flat. Wait about half an hour so the green stuff isn't so sticky and is easier to manage, then attach it to the end of the cloak. Shape the folds using your sculpting tool (instead of actually sculpting, kinda fold your flattened green stuff the way real cloth would) and smooth the edges of where its connected to the real cloak with a bullet shaped rubber clay shaper. Always work in layers, don't do too much at one time. It is easier to add on then to take away.

since i forgot to include this earlier, the vamp in question is gw's flying one with the to be frank ridiculously oversized wing. ive disposed of that particular aberation, given him a better head than came in the box, and green stuffed chainmail onto him so far, as well as attaching a ghoul arm and fist where the wing once was. havent got a camera atm, so i cant provide pictures just yet. thanks for the advice so far; ive gone with green stuff simply because i already have it, which is good for my almost terminally wounded bank account :)
