I've recently restarted my Vampire Counts army after a short hiatus from the hobby.

So far I've only assembled part of my army but I've already started thinking how to paint them.

I've decided I'll include lots of green warpstone fire in the army (and maybe try my hand at source lighting), for example on the Corpse Cart, on the weapon of my Grave Guard champion and braziers carried by some units in the army.

I've already painted up about seven skeletons with turqouise as the main colour and a very orange/brown rusted armour but I think this would clash with the green fire and I considering changing the main colour to either purple or red but I'd like to hear your opinion and whether you have any better ideas.

If you are really going to use Green OSL techniques you will need a light base colour to show the green light effect. Anything else (reds or purples for example) is going to mean darkening the surrounding colours to show the impact of the green.

I would suggest a pale orange or yellow orange colour, or even better a white or v pale grey.

I save a lot of pictures so that if I need an idea I can just go to them. Here are a few of them to look at. I will say, I apologize to the owners of the pics, since they were taken from www.coolminiornot.com.

This one is a sword that is shining:

The eyes are what are shining and the arm has a secondary shine on his arm.

Another sword arm glowing:

The glowing on this model is coming from the base.

Hope those help!
