Marx's eyes lit up, as he started prizing the exit open.

++Onex, where are you? We could do with some help..++

*Springing forwards Grabbing Marx's legs she threw him up through the loose hatch quickly jumping up and through in turn*

"So whats the bloody plan now?.....
I'm pretty sure I can scale the shaft if I make the jump but that leave you behind, do you have any bright ideas in that noggin of yours?"

Marx studied the wheels holding the lift to the elevator shaft.

"Do you have anything metallic and pole like? We could jam the wheels here. Re-bar would be ideal.."

++Our lift is I-359, and its going way too fast for comfort. Anything up your end?++

*Looking about her she sets her eyes on the bar frame around the edge of the lift, pulling loose her sword staff in both hands she lets loose a devastating series of blows breaking the iron bar.
Placing her staff upon her back she quickly pried loose the iron bar*

"You're dreaming if you think I was going to let you use my staff"

"Never even thought of it" Marx said sardonically.

"I'm afraid you're the stronger of us two, so, after you."

As Arabella jams the bar in place it almost seems like the elevator gears are...hungry. The bar almost completely disappears inside the gears, twisting through, under and over them. For a moment it looks like the gears simply do away with the metal and that was that.
However, the bar does seem to block something. Both Arabella and Marx slam violently to the ground as the speed decreases. It is still ascending but at a much slower rate.

In the shaft red and orange light start to blink a slow pattern.

Marx picked himself of the floor painfully, the world span a little and blurred. God he hated technology..

"Well that helped.. a little.. I still don't fancy our chances of stopping, so I'm getting off the roof."

++We've slowed down to.. survivable limits now. Anything at all your end?++

As Onex walks from the busy landing pads towards where the elevator is she can see several Tech Priests hard at work, chanting and swinging bronze braziers filled with an oily smelling substance. A large crowd of both citizens and guards stand watching at a respectful distance. Whispers arise from the crowd about what is going on. Whilst most are used to the fact that the Tech Priests scurry about doing things they cannot understand it is not often that such a large gathering of them is working at such a frantic pace. Only when something is really, seriously wrong...

++There appears to be a large crowd of tech priests up here doing something. I'm going to see if I can get close enough to see what they're doing.++

Onex strides through the crowd, pushing people gently out of her way, craning to see what the Tech Priests are working on.

As Onex walks closer she can see the Tech Priests working on an opened panel near the elevator shaft. It looks like the inner workings were tampered with and they are frantically trying to repair it.

++Looks like someone tampered with the control system on your elevator. There are a bunch of Tech Priests trying to fix it, but we may need to break something to stop your imminent doom.++
Onex looks around for the driving room, or some other method of lifting and dropping the lift.

++We've already broken a little ourselves, but thank you nonetheless, any help would be appreciated++

"It looks like we've got some people up top helping us live as well."

Marx was a little concerned though, if people were helping that meant sabotage. Sabotage meant secret organisation. God, how he hated them.

As Onex looks around she sees a few walls sticking out at a strange angle, possibly a small room connected to the elevator shaft in which the driving room might be located. Strangely enough the Tech Priests seem unconcerned with this room and their focus is solely on the panel that was tampered with.

A double steel door just around the corner of the busy street leads into the room. It looks unsecured, a large Deus Machina symbol in blood red paint probably enough to scare everybody away. After all nobody wants to get caught trespassing in an AdMech facility...
