Dire wolves assembly

So, I was just trying to put some dire wolves together. Quite easy most of it, no horrible gaps so far.

But. The wolves have this roundish thing connected to one of their feet. Are you supposed to glue that to the base or cut it away? It seems completely unneccesary to add it if you're supposed to take it away, but using it, the other paws end up a few mm above the base, which looks silly (might change if I add sand, I haven't tried).

So, cut away the roundish thing or not?

On the jumping ones you should leave it but on the standing ones you should cut it.

Ok, thanks. I'll probably go for that Cut it off from the first one, had to file a bit to make sure it was standing ok, but it looks better than with the roundish thing.
