Drinking blood from a cold-blooded creature

I've been wondering what cold blood does to a vampire. So what do you think?

I'd have to say number two because I have never seen anything stating that cold blood is bad for vampires in the WFB rules and so I'd say Blood is Blood

The difference between cold blood and hot blood would probably only be the taste. I imagine the cold blood would have a much more iron-y edge to it than warm blood. A slight tangy taste if you will. The blood wouldn't harm the vampire however, as the blood is not dead.

I highly doubt that drinking the bloods of a coldblooded animal, like the example Lizardmen would make that much of a difference to drinking that of a warm blooded animal...they both contain the life-force of the the individual and other then the reasonable temperature difference i doubt there would be a difference in its affect on the vampire..

I don't think there really is a difference.
Altough some real animals have blue or green blood, which might taste different because of the other composition.
And warm coffee tastes different than cold coffee of course.. so maybe first put the Lizardmen in a microwave before sucking him empty..

I said only hot blood, mainly due to the fact that the only vamps we know to drink cold blood (ie, the strigoi drinking from buried corpses) only do so out of necessity, and are corrupted by it. Granted that may also be to do with it not being fresh, but I imagine the warmth is something to do with it; as undead, part of what vampires get from blood is the warmth of the living.

In my view it wouldn't make a difference. Those Vampires in Lustria have got to feed on something when they get bored of the Norse. Somehow diseased rat just doesn't appeal...

A saraus or a skink has the same blood temperature as you or I.

As reptilian creatures, I think that the Lustrians have ectothermic variable blood temperature like other reptiles, so the blood temperature is dependent on the ambient temperature (Lustrians live in a jungle) and the current energy input of the food.

If a Vampire sneaks up on a lizard while asleep, the blood should be around it's normal minimum, unless it is basking in the sun. If the drinking is after an extended fight, then the temperature should be close to the maximum possible. This is not likely to be as great as human body temperature in most cases.

The Inspector is right in that cold-blooded, does not mean blood at room temperature. I believe that 25C is a typical cold core temperature.

Yes, they would. This would have the problem of helping any degenerate problems which may be inherent in the vampire. The prime example of this is, of course, the strigoi who mainly feed on corpses. As well as this, the corpse can have actually been dead for upto a year after death. The magical essence of the blood is nearly gone though so sustenance from such blood is not usual.

Well, we would need a vampirologist (wow, do they really exist?) to solve this question, but we can (most of us at least) agree that if the subject of the blood drinking is alive, his (in this case its) bood is as good as a virginal blood (don´t know about the magical properties of red-headed women things:grin::grin::grin:???)

in vampireslayer it said that vampires do somtimes drink dwarf blood but it tasts bad and the vampire charicter mentions that he once drank the blood of a beastman and it gave him indigestion

Should taste better than corpses though. I voted option 2, but I think most vampires would prefer a human or elf if they were available. Still, hunting overgrown lizards is more fun than digging up corpses.

I wonder how orc blood would taste? Its thick and almost black, so something like marmite.
So you either hate it or... hate it more.
