Hey.

I'm on the prowl for a model to represent my Von Carstein Countess. I've seen a few nice female models, but they seem to be more suitable as Lahmia or Necromancers.. I want a little more martial look to her, but without being dressed as a knight.

I've thought about using a Witch Elf, and make a cloak to her out of greenstuff (Dracula cloaks are so Carstein). If I can actually make the convert it'll turn out looking okay I guess, but it's still not what I had in mind. I'd like some kind of.. female version of the current Von Carstein models, as I really love their style of clothing (cloaks cloaks cloaks <3).

Anyways, anything anyone has to say it appreciated.

Hello,
Well, if you can get your hands on Countess Marianna Chevaux that might be a suitable choice, and she has a cloak!

thanks!

I have a couple of suggestions that I found that might be suitable, though most of the female vampire figures that I have seen I always think would make great Lahmians.. that could have more to do with my obsession with Lahmians though :P

Ok well the first one is from the Reaper line of mini's... it at least has a cloak which you are after...

Now this second one. This mini, Lucrezzia Belladonna, from GW, is actually a Brettonian model, but I saw it used in the 5th Ed version of the VC army book, where it had been converted slightly (had a bat flying from the mount attached by a chain, and for the mount, they used a nightmare with barding) and been given an Undead style paint scheme, and it looked fantastic. I have the 5th ed book myself, but couldn't find the pic online anywhere, so this link will have to suffice and use your imagination for the rest.

Thank you, very nice models. The first one were a little bit to kinky to be my girl, though a wonderful miniature. The second one I might use as a mounted necromancer though, if I'm getting one. =)

If you want a tough looking female vamp (but still with a pretty bow!) then try this Heresy mini

Wow! That is one nice figure! I didn't even know she existed!

Reapers line of vampires especially the female ones are the best imo, especially monique De noir

A great looking mini, and I would agree that the Reaper range are great, if a little small when compared to GW minis. That said, if looking at a female figure, particularly armoured as in this case, it can look fine if you build the base a little.

I also think that the current and old Bretonian Damsel miniatures work well (I do like the classic ones particularly), although you may feel them a little to Lahmian, Angelica (nice to see a sister of the blood with us ;)). Links below.

Current Damsel

Classic Damsel on foot

Classic mounted

Skaramak: I have actually used the current Damsel on foot as a Dark Elf Sorceress, it turned out wonderful. She freelances as my Necromancer too. ^^
All the Damsels are great minis, but they're not as martial as I'd like for my vampires, but they make lovely Necro's. Marianna Chevaux still stands as the winning model. ;)

Count Homogenised: Another great model, but I didn't really like her. She looked too feral, but it might just be the painting.. Although she'd make a nice Lahmia or Necrach, me think.

Excuse me for throwing everyone's kind suggestions aside. :redface

Excuse me for throwing everyone's kind suggestions aside.

No need imo :D. You are seeking a certain look/feel, and only you will know when you find it.

Count Homogenised - I would agree that that is one of the nicest female vampires I have seen. Which one is she?

Well having seen Countess Marianna Chevaux I caved in and ordered her yesterday along with some other bits for my army, the undead Gothic Banners were too nice not to order (http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=9947020708005&orignav=301116) so I've ordered a few of those as well. Unfortunately that means removing arms from some finished standard bearers. Oh well!

Even better was GW have only charged me 2 quid on postage! Result! :)

Another option I haven't seen mentioned yet is the possibility of taking one of GW's existing minis and getting out the green stuff, that way you have a unique mini that you can use at tournaments and such.

Here's an example I did using this model. (though it wasn't for VC)

And this is how she turned out (hoping that the cult of Slannesh will be in 7th edition somewhere)

first person to say they "Can't sculpt" will get a slap around the head with my side lamp! :P

Richie: Wow, a wonderful model you've made. I've actually been thinking about converting and modelling her from a Witch Elf, but then I realised the hair would be hard to get around when doing the cloak.. Besides Witch Elf hasn't exactly the dress code I want. :D
And.. I can sculpt, but I should keep myself to doing goblins on each other's shoulders draped in black cloaks. My Wraiths. ^_^

Count Homogenised: That was the most beautiful mini I've ever seen. I just got to use her for something. Gief. Now. Rawr.

But Richie.... conversions like that are not an option for me because I can't sculpt... *ducks the swipe with the side lamp* :P

Nah, just teasing. I have no need to convert. I've been able to find the models that I want, and playing Lahmian, scantily clad works really well for me.. like this Reaper one that I have waiting to be painted..

http://www.coolminiornot.com/135924

Perfectly captures that whole Lahmian theme of enemy troops standing there dumbstruck going 'Cor! Check her out!' ala Beguile, Tranfix, and Innocence Lost. Not suitable for a female Von Carstein of course.

By the way Richie, I've always been impressed with your sculpts, but don't recall ever seeing the finished product? Do you have any pics of any sculpts/conversions you have done where they are fully painted up? Would love to see them..

Only two, both lizardmen, Nakai I am still trying to get cast, Kroak I was going to paint but I have been prompted to make his palanquin. my painting is not wonderful and too many paint stripping products ruin green stuff so you can see my problem.

I am working on a Strigoi (see my av for his head shot) which I will paint once he's finished.

Can anyone give me a link to the Reaper Miniature Site? or....most of the alternative mini's sites? :D

Here is the reaper one.
Reaper

These are pretty awesome (is a small range at the moment). Ex GW sculptor, I believe.

Felix Paniagua

Sobe of these may be of interest. Nice minis, but not as bulky as GW

Mithril

and Black Tree, who do very similar minis, many of which are interchangeable.

Black Tree Design

Be aware, however, that GW tend to insist on their minis only in competitions (and in their shops)
