ps: sorry for any possible bad countings,if you see any, would you kindly point them out? thanks.

You sure seem to be a man of Champions.

Strigoi count:LV2+bat form+infinite hatred+iron sinews
335pts
Strigoi thrall:infinite hatred+iron sinews
130pts

Your idea (I think) is to have a mobile rank and file killer flying around? Well, be aware that if you fly away, your troops will be left at a measly 4" movement... meaning they can't march. You're better off giving the Thrall Bat Form, even though it costs 45 pts... That way you can give your Strigoi Count another wound by taking the Massive Monstrosity power, costing 50 pts.

Wight lord:Lance+H armour+shield+barding+sword of the kings+cursed shield of moussilon
132pts

Points are correct, you just forget to mention the Nightmare. Also, be aware that paying for a normal shield as well as the Cursed Shield of Moussillon doesn't make it add up. So you always have a 2+ AS, though having paid for 2 shields. I suggest dropping the Magic Item, as a normal shield is much cheaper. And the 1 attack you don't get doesn't matter all that much when you're protected by a 2+ AS.

20 skeletons with shields and spears+Full command
245pts

20 skeletons with H weapons and shields+Full command
225pts

Looks alright. I wouldn't use Champions in these units, but it's up to you. I wouldn't use spears either. Did you think of taking light armour?

9 ghoul of wich one is a ghast
82pts

Looks good.

20 dire wolves of wich one is a doom wolf
210pts

15 dire wolves
150pts

I'd split them up if I were you. They're pretty expensive and a big unit now too. I'd separate them all and making a whopping 7 units of 5 in total. Your opponent won't be all too happy seeing that.

20 GG:shields+full command+banner of the barrows
335pts

12 BK: barding Full command+banner of doom+shields
390pts
4 fell bats
80pts

banshee
90pts

banshee
90pts

Looks good.

Against Dark Elves, I'd try to swamp him. Use Banshees to scream at weak units, like Dark Riders. Use Black Knights to hammer through anything. Skeletons and Grave Guard to swamp... Dire Wolves + Fell Bats for any possible warmachine and lone mage hunting. Use some Dire Wolves to charge in the flank or rear at the same time when your swamping units charge/get charged by enemy. Ghouls could charge in a flank too or try and Poison big beasties to death... Would be fun to see your Ghast challenge an enemy character and poison it.

Orcs and Goblins. Same stuff applies basically. Try to autobreak them. That might send their whole army running.

For Brettonians, I'd pay special attention to the knights, who will be everywhere. If you can charge them, I think it's best to do so. swamping knights is a good idea. I think if he gets to charge you, you can get some serious punches.

okay, thanks for the reply!
so i'm going to drop the skelly champs and split up the dire wolve like you said (i forgot to mention that the skellies all have light armour and also forgot the nightmare and dropping the normal shield on the w lord) oh and here's a question: the o&g player told me that strigoi can't cast spells, but i can't find the page where it states that. so they can cast spells right?

so they can cast spells right?

Strigoi can cast spells whenever they want to, if they are magic casters. Like your Count.

Thralls can't cast magic because they don't have magic levels.

The only case when you would be unable to not cast spells is when wearing any kind of armour. Though, you can only take Bloodline Powers with your Strigoi so that's never the case. There would be an exception to Blood Dragons on this rule, who may cast spells and wear armour altogether. If there is magic armour that does permit casting, it should explicitly tell you in it's description.

Anyways, your opponent is wrong.

Cheers,

ok thanks for clearing that thingy out.
Now how would this list do against an orc&goblin horde army with mostly night gobbos, squigs and boar boyz?
sorry that i don't know the exact list and stuff but that player only buys stuff he's gonna use in his army and i saw him buying loads of those units...
thanks for any future replies!

At 2500 points, I would try to get a 4th hero, either a necromancer or combat specialist. If a necromancer, look for a 10 zombie bunker for him. A Wraith could be fun for the Terror tests. A second caster would bolster your chances of getting spells of enormously.

As mentionned above, I wouldn't bother with shields. These are as much to provide static combat resolution as anything.

I would expect more of these in a strigoi force. Possibly drop some dire wolves for more (2 poisoned attacks and skirmish is great). I go with units of 6-10, and like 2-3 units. Also, being alive they are not slowed by being out of 12" from your general.

Sarthex said:

15 dire wolves

I would split these into units of 5-6. I rarely bother with a doom-wolf.

Nice units, but would split the BKs into 2 units of 6. Get your static resolution from skeletons or zombies.

Go for 5, and if you drop these behind the enemy, routing will give auto-kills.

I have not crunched numbers for you, and all my proposals would put you over the points. It does give you something to think about in each area, and you can tinker to see which best fits with your playing style.
