Only problem with Alpha legion is that small-unit tactics after taking casualties are... confusing.

The scene: Six Alpha Legionnaires are pinned down by enemy fire, sheltering behind a wrecked Rhino. One is injured and bleeding heavily. One who looks the same as the others, but is apparently the leader, calls the attention of a second.

Alpharius (leader): ALPHARIUS! TAKE ALPHARIUS AND ALPHARIUS AND MOVE ROUND TO THE LEFT! ALPHARIUS AND I WILL PROVIDE COVERING FIRE! GET MOVING!

Alpharius: But sergeant, what about Alpharius?

Alpharius (wounded): [Ach] don't worry about me Alpharius, I'll be [urk] OK.

Alpharius: But we need to call an apothecary for you! (switches comms channel) Apothecary Alpharius! We need your assistance now, co-ordinates 205N30...

Alpharius (leader): (quietly) Forget it Alpharius, there's nothing Doc Alpharius can do for Alpharius that he can't do for him after the battle.

Alpharius: But... sergeant...

Alpharius (leader): GET MOVING, SQUAD ALPHARIUS, THAT'S AN ORDER!

(after taking the enemy position)

Alpharius (leader): Alright, CAZAM. Alpharius?

Alpharius: 3 mags, no injuries

Alpharius (leader): Alpharius?

Alpharius: 4 mags, injuries will heal.

Alpharius (leader): Alpharius?

And so on... I have no idea why I wrote that, except to ask if there's any update on when this'll be starting/we can start designing characters?

It's still in the pipeline as it were; I just took this "survey", if you like, to help me choose the Legion. Still plenty left to work out before a recruitment thread, and even then I don't want to rush it. Different RPs have different styles, and thats perfectly all right, but I prefer the "fewer but longer" posting style. It's a style I tried (and apparently failed ) to import from Heresy Online, but it doesn't matter if it's not the adopted method. As long as each RP works, then I'm happy; I'm just saying that for my RPs, I'm happy with the Heresy method.

So expect (slightly) dictatorial, (very) detailed updates, and expect me to hammer on about posts being too short.

This roleplay is most likely going to be put back a lot further than originally intended, as something else CN fiction-related will be coming instead...

Personally I would prefer to play Alpha Legion or Space Wolves. The Alpha Legion are fun for the infiltration/stealth/etc style, but the Space Wolves are amazing as their fluff is very well established and they are great at absolutely kicking ass.
