Normally I wouldn't say something like this over the internet; but I just don't know what to do. My brother (younger) is a pest. When he is bored, he comes to me. When he plays on the xbox, he comes to try and make me watch. When I play xbox, he comes to watch. He comes to annoy me when he's bored and finished homework, whilst I'm toiling away at GCSE work. He continues to tell me how his school is better, and how his work is harder, and how's more clever, and how I'm too retarded to eve get into his school. (Just because of when I'm born, the school will only accept me in the year above, because of league tables.) I just hate it. He always whispers to me, about how I'm friendless, fat, and stupid, how everyone hates me and the world would be a better place without me. When he annoys me this much, I tell my parents; they tell me to sort it out myself. When I finally lash out, he squeals in such a girl voice, and my parents come running. I just can't take it.

When we have an argument, and one of my parents despairs about how we always argue, it is him who comes and sinisterly whispers into my room about how it was all my fault, repeating my parents' words but twisting them to make me the origin of all the fault. Sometimes, I just hate him. I can't stop myself. Whereas I used to just hit him away, now I hold it in longer; until I snap, and throw something, or multiple things, then shout; when my parents come, who I'd been getting on well with for the whole evening, I can't stop myself shouting at them too. The whole evening is soured, and the feeling I get is just....horrible. I hate it. But my brother? No, he comes and whispers. And sometimes, dammit I just can't find any reason to disagree. I play warhammer, mostly stay at home on weekends, enjoy my schoolwork, aren't in any sporting teams unless the whole year is, play the piano, am not very strong or big, and have never had any sort of relationship with a girl. I'm a ruined, antisocial disaster. I just can't stop the feeling coming back. Now it happens at school too; I feel awful. My few friends try to cheer me up, but inside I know I'm loving the attention; and feel even worse for it, then the cycle just repeats. I don't know what people think of me, I can never know. And now my friends, who I originally considered similar to me, are starting to have relationships with girls too. I'm just being left behind. Those who I considered best friends share knowing glances with each other, and laugh, then when I ask them what its about they say its secret. They only knew each other through me, but now I'm no longer needed. I don't see any movies, and don't listen to music; only classical, which I have on in the background at home. So when people start playing "guess the song" or talk about a new album, I always try and avoid the conversation. Once, in a class survey, I was asked who my favourite band was. I just had no clue. Thankfully, as I vaguely said none in particular a friend shouted out some group, obviously trying garner support for it, and I was off the hook. But this just makes me stand out even more. Now even the teachers start to like other people more; they liked me because I was a good pupil, but now they see I'm some sort of freak, they just enjoy knowing "normal" people better.

I don't know why I'm posting this, exactly. Probably for attention, inside. That's why it's worse. I'm just mucked up. And I know I've not got it bad, which makes me feel even worse. I've got a comparatively good life. Yet somehow I've still managed to screw it up.

Hey buddy the very least I can say Is you have freinds here, least I would consider myself one of them I hope. That being said I feel in sharing a few things about myself maybe it will help some.

I am a stay at home father and rather hermit like. I stay at home for weeks at a time not seeing anyone but family(by choice.) Most of my freinds are only online. Alot of them are this forum. So many of people like us are freaks, or outside of society's norms. Now with that confusing statement Ill share more of my thoughts on it.

Albert einstien was laughed at through school because he was so absent minded. In a book I read his teachers actaully said he would never amount to anything. hmmm

As for the annoying brother well aint all of the annoying, least in my experince. So are ones own children somedays, things have a way of working themselves out as people grow up. That is not saying he wont always feel he is better then you. But hey if he wishes to be let him. All one needs in life is the knowledge of what makes themselves happy and the willingness to reach for it. I hoped I helped atleast make you feel some better here.

Btw for attention getting your rather honest about your post. I feel you just need a pat on the back and a hug telling you things will be allright. If you ever need someone to talk to I would be more then glad too.

Of a blood thirster and your brother.

yes thinking is good if one doesnt over due it. Life is great sometimes one must just see the roses. Like today here at my house I seen turkeys roost in a tree. It was the most fasnitating sight one I have never seen before, I even got good pictures of it. It made waking up worth it this morning.
Good coffee helped too.

You have my sympathies Darvaleth, but know that your own mind can rather seriously alter how you find yourself being perceived by those around you.

Your brother is acting like typical for a younger sibling (or so I've heard; I was deathly afraid of my older brother's wrath when I was younger. He used to sock me right in the belly if I ever stepped too much out of bounds. God that hurt), and he's really not much to pay attention to.

Get some rest and do some thinking, and remember - if you're ever feeling unsatisfied with where you are in life, the process of change begins with yourself.

Problems with siblings is always there. I can work with some crazy or ego centric guys in my unit without too much trouble, but it only takes 30 seconds for my sister to tick me off.

Maturity and patience are needed, but they take time to get. I'm no expert but in my experience going for a long walk outside can do wonders for your mind. Failing that, you could always paint some of those toy soldiers that we all love so much. (And who doesn't have a freakin' huge pile of grey plastic in their closet? ;) )

regards,
Lord Crosis

don't worry about it. I am a younger sibling and thats what i used to do. Arguement are normal and i used to call my brother a retard all the time, i still do. I perhaps should grow up. Brothers are made to annoy each other. He is still your brother and obviously craves your attention. If he wants to watch you play xbox or wants you to watch then he wants attention and be part of your life.
As for school, don't sweat it. We have all been the outsider at one time or another and you will make your own way in life.
And we all need a pat on the back evert now and then.

He doesn't just so much annoy me; he's more like an enemy. I used the wrong words in my OP. He doesn't have any fear of retribution, because he knows as soon as I lash out, he can roll on the floor and scream like a baby, and my next weekend will be spent in lock-down. (Not too dissimilar to normal, I guess...) But every time this happens, it's another victory for him. And I can't swear, because we're not a swearing house. (Only my parents do.) But I really want to, and do under my breath. I just wish he'd stop.

But I'm just going to be happy when he finds himself unemployed because every single business can't take his damned superiority. He's got to lose a lot of self esteem. And fast, I hope. Until then, he'll keep on making my life hell and shit, but I guess I can always paint... oh wait, where I normally paint is being worked on by builders. The window is being taken out, and rubble is everywhere (rubble he was supposed to clean up). And that's another thing; when my parents say "one of you wash up" or the like, and I've done the last four jobs in a row between us, he'll just say "they told you to do it" and stalk off saying "it's not my job". I say this to my parents, who just explode about the arguing. Yet when he's told to do the job specifically, he comes to my parents and says it's not fair, and then I'M shouted at and made to do it. Gaaarrrgh!

Hmmmm ;)

From what I can gather your brother is an attention seeker and a big on at that. I too have a brother who is quite similar, in fact I have 3 younger brothers who's intelligence is questionable and habits annoying...
A way I use to win little victories against them, is undermine their attempts to undermine me, if you accept that you are fat/retarded they have nothing left be sarcastic to them and accept what they say no matter how many time they try to convince you (DO the stereotypical retard noise which although is insensitive to special people is a key tool in the conquering of your insufferable brother)
Through this technique you gain the power in the conversation if you accept what does he have on you ?
Big fat nothing.

AS for friends and school I've been their and I hated it. I didn't do too well and I really only had 3 close friends at one time but hey we were all off casts from social norm. If people ask your favorite band you tell them. Hiding who you are doesn't help anyone and only buries your personality in social stigma. Pride in who you are and being upfront in what you like, is an admirable quality and one everyone will respect if you tell them whats, what. My friends believe I am of a sub level intelligence, my speak is mumbled and my ideas take too much time to form into logical thought. Yet I believe myself to be smart enough to give you advice on your brother, and smart enough to know whats wrong. what your parents are doing is not OK and you need to tell them that your brother is annoying you and that they are not trying to solve it. if they try to tell you to solve it on your own then yell at him to leave you alone when you want to be left alone (no swearing necessary) and when they come over to see whats going on tell them you want to be left alone and that they ignored you when you said you wanted them to peacefully solve your grievance with your brother.
Logic is your Blade and knowledge your shield. Don't shut people out because they change and don't lock your self away because your different embrace your differences and the differences of those around you. This is no easy task but one that is very rewarding.

I don't think your brother even knows how much it upsets you really. For him it's probably just fun and games. Best bet is probably to talk with your parents about what he does when you are calm, try and explain what he's doing and why it bothers you so much.

Also, don't put yourself down because you are different. It's the outsiders that eventually change the world and not the flock of mindless drones that follow the latest fashion. Your "friends" don't seem like friends at all if they try to lock you out of things.

And if you are an antisocial disaster because of this I'm an antisocial apocalypse xD

Ever tried taking a glass coke bottle take the bottle cap off and shaking it with your thumb over it and sneaking behind him and holding his head down while you let the shaken coke under your thumb free and making it shoot up his nose? It burns like mace but does not leave a mark so he can not prove anything. I bet that would show him not mess with you. I saw a cop in mexico do it to a drunk american....I do not really advise doing this to your brother but....its an idea lol

Hang in their, focus on getting through one day at a time. Most I can really say is don't retaliate, or even acknowledge him. Its harder than it sounds, but if you just walk away without a sound, he'll get bored after a while. Chances are he's doing it because he s bored, or even having issues at school, etc, and wants something to make him feel good, or as a distraction. I can't rightly comment without knowing how old he is, but if he's say 14+yrs, ask how his day at school was or something (after he quits being a brat, that is). Patience and strong will is worth a shot, if nothing else it'll give you something to focus on for the next month or so.
Otherwise, good luck with it, and just try to focus on you're education more than anything. You're young so plenty of time for friends later (hell, I'm almost 20 and only have a few people I'd actually call friends.) It's not you're fault, but if you can turn the tables and end up with a semi-decent relationship with you're brother, you'll feel better for it.
TBS, good luck, and all the best
