I have decided that after my current force of IG are done, and after probably around 2000 pts of VC are done, I shall begin on a 3rd army, that army being Warriors of Chaos. The army will be based around nice big blocks of Chaos warriors, supported by knights, warhounds, chariots, you know, everything except marauders(going for the more armoured cooler units). In lower points games, the army will be led by chaos champions and sorcerers, in higher points, it shall be daemon prince versions of those same characters. The (eventual) plan is for there to be one for each god and one for undivided to lead the force, and each to have a unit of chosen warriors. The undivided parts of the army (the bulk of the warriors) will be painted in natural colours, with metal armour, brown fur, etc, while the chosen units will be painted in dedication to their chosen god.
So, heres where I need ideas.
1# What colour scheme for chaos warriors (chosen) for each god?
2# Which model shall be used for the champion or sorcerer for each god, and which ones will be champions/ sorcerers?
3# Also, which models/parts for each daemon prince?

Here are my preliminary ideas for each:
1# Lots of rot and rust for nurgle warriors (duh)
Mirror-like shinyness for slaneeshi warriors
Some kind of bluey shiney colour for tzeentch warriors
Blood soaked khorne warriors (duh)

2# Slaneeshi Champion using converted masque to make a kind of female warrior of chaos (replace the missing breast by extending her breast armour, replace the big scything talon kinda thing with a proper hand with a sword or whip, replace the masks in her other hand with a weapon of some kind)
Perhaps use the changeling as a tzeentch sorcerer.
No idea what model to use for the nurgle champion or sorcerer
Khorne- Nice selection of khorne champion models. Shall I use the one with the dual axes or the one with the shield?
Undivided: The leader of the army, probably this guy

3# Daemon Princes.
Tzeentch: Unsure. Probably just the plastic daemon prince kit with blue/purply colourings and a staff.
Nurgle: Completely at a loss here.
Khorne: Once again the standard kit, just give him a big axe and paint him red!
Slaneesh: Tricky. Would be easier if this werent the evolution of a female character!

Nurgle daemon prince= Pizza the Hut.
I always wanted to do an angelic themed slaaneshi army.Legions of the morning star,he is based on Lucifer afterall.
I picture Tzeench all lined in electric blue.Like a dark ages Tron army.
A female Tzeench DmnPrincess=Find model w/ big titties..Decapitate,then glue on that big nasty Vrock bird head :devil2:
A female reaper angel model would be good for slaanesh(their ugliness is on the inside).

Check my very early WIP 'Chosens of Tzeentch' (Plastic) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Unfdall/Cult%20of%20Tzeentch%20-%20Vampire%20Counts/sneak1.png
Perhaps this can give you ideas ;D

For the Nurgle Daemon Prince try the Nurgle Daemon Prince from Chaos Marines. He wouldn't take much to make him look fantasy instead of 40K. Nurgle Prince

Maybe for the Slaanesh Daemon Princess start with this Lady and use the Masque head you plan to have in place of hers. Some other small conversions/ covering of holy symbols should turn out a pretty neat Daemon Princess.

As far as the Tzeentch blue color, I found a dynamite metallic blue acrylic at my local craft store, Folk Art is the brand and the color name is Metallic Blue Sapphire. It only runs about $2-3 for a fair amount of decent paint.

Interesting topic here. I was thinking about starting a WoC army as well, but that will have to wait until my VC are done.

My suggestions:
If you want a chrome look on your slaneshi soldiers and are a really really really good painter, you should think about using the SENMM technique. Tutorials for that can be found on youtube. But let me tell you something, it's really hard to achieve the intended chrome effect. It would be easier to give them some pink armor features, like shoulder plates or the things on the ellbow or knees for example. I think a whole mini in pink would look... not so cool.
For nurgle warriors GS is your friend. Take a very thin piece of GS and attach it to the armor of your chosen. Then with a small knife, a sharp pen or a similar tool of choice, rip that small layer open as if you were making holes in a piece of cloth. You can either leave the torn parts hanging on the armor or create a real hole on the bottom of which you see the original armor. If done properly it looks like rotten flesh or an armor played that was destroyed by acid.
I hope this description is understandable, I'm pretty sure there was a tutorial for it as well, but I don't remember where I've seen it.

For the other gods I have no fancy conversion ideas at the moment, but I'm going to add them if I can think of any.

For those of us unacquainted with CMON jargon, Dogmar is talking about Sky & Earth Non-Metallic Metals, basically the models are painted as if their armour is mirror-finished, reflecting the sky & earth with a distinct horizon, like the pictures of silver cars in the desert, much beloved of advertisers.

I'm sure a skilled painter could produce quite a pretty looking Slaanesh Warriors army this way, but it'd drive me crackers.

Sorry, it was in no way my intention to confuse anyone. It's just like this: I did a lot of research on that specific topic in the past few day so I really can't draw a clear line between jargon and words of common use any more ;) . Forgive me that.
Also, my first attempts on NonMetallicMetal can be seen in another thread on here. I have never done Sky&Earth-NMM though and it looks really hard, as i stated above. It was just an idea really. I don't know how many fancy techniques Sanai wants to use for his army - and of course how much time he wants to spend to paint a single model ;).
Kalandros' Tzeentch idea with the mutations is really cool by the way. If you want chosen of tzeentch, this is the way to go!

NMM of any kind is pretty advanced for me, I will probably do a really, really shiny basic nmm using stuff like mithril silver for the slaneeshi, with gold details and pink cloth. They will probably also feature details like dark elf slave models attached to the bases around the edge of the unit. Will probably have to use a lil bit of gs to fill in any particularly worn or scratched looking bits of armour to get em looking a bit sleeker than the average chaos warrior.
For the nurgle, that gs idea sounds fantastic, I do like me some flayed skin.
I am not sure about that idea for the tzeentch chosen however, as I prefer a more sinsiter tzeentch look rather than a gibbering mutated one.

Probably that kind of armour for the tzeentch chosen.

For the slaneeshi demoness, I am thinking perhaps this could be the basis of the conversion:
m1183604_99110201139_ChaosLordSlaaneshMain_873x627.jpg

That weird boobworm as the lower body, severed about where the pendant is, with a more humanoid upper body starting there. May or may not move the boobworms series of boobs upwards, or even just have her with a single pair (probably need to be perkier however). With slaneeshi daemons, the boobs are so, so important.
Of course, with any metal slaneeshi warriors, the armour could simply be buffed and polished for real to give it that..well...buffed polished look! (My dad did this to great effect on the shoulders of his necrons, and a similar technique could be used for slaneeshi warriors)

The 40k nurgle daemon is one I have been considering for nurgle, but will obviously need some changes to de-spacemarinefy him.

The right knee would need to be rescultped, the left arm would have to come off and be replaced with something more fantasy, the big space marine shoulderpad would have to be removed, and the backpack would have to be removed and probably replaced with something else. But he would be a good start.

One thing that I have realised is...it seems warriors of chaos have no access to lesser daemons! as far as I can tell. Which is a shame, because I love the daemon infantry and cav plastics, but I also love warriors of chaos.

Finally! I have found inspiration for what to use for a slaneeshi daemon princess!

May still boobworm it up however...I wound how well the boobworm scales with it...

I like the last two you just posted. I guess my only suggestion to really make these guys pop would be to do some bits crashing. I've seen a lot of WOC armies, but the ones I like the best have some pretty neat conversions going for them. And don't be afraid to try some different colors out. While it's "safe" to stick to the GW regimented colors, don't be afraid to spice it up a bit, regardless of the faction you're representing.

It could be fun to throw some HE's in your units as they're getting butchered, or perhaps the odd Empire Soldier here and there. Spice it up!

All the best,

Jake
