Howdy all!
I just got around to painting my last zombies and now Im on the prowl for something new to paint. And I found karl franz and his griffon deathclaw lying around painted in an odd fashion. So I decieded to give it a go and "convert" the griffon into a count as varghulf, but before I get carried away I just would like to ask for some advice on how to do it. :)

I would gladly hear all your crazy ideas.

Cheers! :D

It depends on how you want to go to convert, do you just want the "dead look" in which case I be getting out some tools, gouging some holed and then green stuffing organs in them, A few spare swords with the arms filed off poking here and there and on some parts that are light in fur some serious filing and then smoothing off with GS to look like its gone down to the bone. Of course make sure you don't make him look too dead as he is meant to be a Varghulf, not a decaying corpse.

Ill have to take a long and hard look and see what I can do. Because Im not quite sure that I would trust myself with sharp tools in my hands. Maybe just paint it grubby and zombieish and fluff something to fit. Im not sure...

Ill try something out with greenstuff and post results here.

maybe try clipping some holes in the wings, just a couple and use some left over skele bits or ribs from the dire wolves sprue to make it look like a couple things are poking out...

If possible maybe try to give it some teeth? nice sized fangs? that shouldnt be too hard to do with green stuff or plasticard or even some bitz.

A couple of corpses on the base and a nice bloody colour scheme should make it look evil. I think it should look like a vampire controlled griffon. Perhaps it was captured and given the blood of a vampire and now its gone totally mad? That would give you an intresting back story.
