If u want to get the imprint or whatever from one side of a piece of your model such as heraldry that might be on its shield it can be easily done using a green stuff mould.

What you Need:
A Lego Base x1
4x2 pieces of lego according to the size of what your trying to mould
Green stuffs
Some sort of substance like lipbalm or Vicks VapoRub which i use as a releasing agent
The thing u want to make a copy of.

Setting Up:
Make your Base out of lego, and a square sized shape with the bricks on the base. Layer the inside of the square sized shape you have made with the brick with the releasing agent.

Making the mould:
Take you Green Stuff ( or similar kneadite ) and roll it into a large green ball using equal parts of blue and yellow. Place it into the square shape that you have made onto the lego base where the releasing agent is and press down hard so that it seeps into the lego. While the green stuff is still relatively soft take your thing u want to get a mould of and press it down into the green stuff, dont press to hard or youll distort the image.
Leave the piece of plastic you are moulding in the green stuff, and leave it over night so that the green stuff can harden.

Next Morning:
Now that the green stuff is dry take the plastic piece out of it carefully, you should now see if done properly, the imprint of the surface of what your trying to mould.
Now, Get some more green stuff and using equal bits of both blue and yellow make a ball and press it into the imprint in the green stuff. Use an amont larger then the imprint because you will want to make some things that you can use to pull it out of the mould so you dont damage the image you are creating.
Now leave it all to dry, when this has happened pull the new shield or w/e you have now got a copy of out of the green stuff mould, it should look very similar to the original copy, if not the same.

Be aware the doing this you cannot do a two sided thing, because it is far to difficult, i would recommend after you have made the detailed side of whatever you are moulding using the green stuff mould to use your modeling tools to sculpt the other side of it so you can remove the excess green stuffs and shape it to fit onto your models.

(ill add some pictures later today, showing the steps that I take.)

Then of course comes the next logical step.

OK not so logical in the case of shields (which are practically two dimensional), but it's a start.
