My Zombies

Since this is a rebirth-unbirth of CN.

l thought l'd post up a few of the models l have painted, before you look at them bear in mind there are painted by a guy who pretty much hates to paint :/

All the bases have flocking on them now, but l'm not one to take pictures of my painting, but thought long overdue since l last posted anything up here.

So hope you enjoy them, oh and imagine them with flocking on

P.S Yes there is a greatsword weilding zombie in the back

They look great. It's good to see that you've got the old "hungry crow" zombie in the front rank. That's one of my favourite zombies from the original slotta range.

Maxim the skin is really easy to do

Pick a green goblin green or something, thin it out a bit with water, whack it all over. The use rotting flesh to dry brush (more of a "dusting" effect) do that three times letting each dusting dry. Slap on Bleached Bone on the bones/teeth, use a bit of white to hightlight the bone.

For the bandages use a grey/blue paint, l tend to mix mine so it's slighty different for each zombie. Use the same grey/blue on the edges of cloaks and the such.

For the inking 2parts black, 3 parts brown. and 3 parts water. Slap it all over and done. If you want darker 3 parts black and 2 parts brown 3 parts water (you run the risk of making bones blackish so be carful)

Theres 70 there some mixed with Free Milita models and detachments from Empire.

It's really easy to achieve mostly all in the ink wash as that picks out everything, took me roughly 10 hours to achieve.

Painting zombies in such numbers! It reminds of me and a friend of mine going on about having 20k of Skeletons and 20k of Zombies.

Of course, you could probably reach that amount the way you paint!

Theres 70 there some mixed with Free Milita models and detachments from Empire.

70s? Then you have some of the original models, which are worth a lot...

that even Zombies can be painted pretty well.

Seeing them from a distance, it's hard to be convincing. But the colour of the skin and clothes work so well.... If you like, could you take some close-ups? I would really like

I think he also meant 70 zombies, not zombies from the 70's... Is a bit confusing, but considering that GW exists from 1977... I doubt there were any slottabase models around that time.

Well l suppose l could do some close up pics. Some are more rushed then others, due to a tremble l have in my (left) hand l couldn't do the eyes so ultra detail painting isn't something l can do, and l don't have the paitence to set up my modelling clamps per zombie.

Sorry about the confusion in making you think the some of the models was from the 1970's, l'm still a young guy (28) oldest model l have (after l sold a bunch) was the old shorter Slannesh greater deamon model.

Glad some people like the crow on the shoulder of a zombie model, thats one model l've never been able to give away or sell, with that said a few zombies have been given to my nephew (The better painted ones) he's only 7 and loved the banner welding zombie l made (Used the Battle Banner for VC) looks cool but gave it to him.

l'll see what l can do. And maybe show the old Greater Deamon l painted when l was a teenager.

Ok l'm sitting here slapping on paint on my Ghouls, just the ten to do. l will do this for an hour or so, then l'll get my camera out and show you the long over due pics of my skeles before l do some of the leather straps and before they are inked.

*grumbles* Hate painting Ghouls.

Assuming full command & light armour for the skeletons, that is 2,461 zombies & 2,352 skeletons :|

Ok l know it's late, but better late then never.

l've been plodding along with my painting so l'm afraid my number 1 goal is to get these guys done first. So the quality of the pictures are rushed, and got a blue tinge so once l've got them properly painted l will do some better pictures under better light

So forgive the quality of pictures.

Just done the basing. Bleached Bone, then a Skull White/Bleached bone highlight.

Compled Zombies (Or roughly translated all l can be bothered to do on them *laughs* )

Ghouls, only had skin base so far, two layers of Dwarf Flesh, will do a DF and Komando Khaki mix drybrush.

There you go

Always gets me is that when you start on them they do look horrible, but hopefully, they'll come out ok in the future. Yes l know no Direwolves piccys l'm concentrating on ghouls and skele's first

Hiya.

Can l ask some advice?

l'm curious on a ink wash to use on my ghouls, l have drybrushed over the Dwarf flesh - DwarfFlesh/Kommando khaki skin with KK drybrush. However l can't think of a suitable ink wash to use, the wash l use on the zombies work because they are dead, but l am worried that using it on my fleshy ghouls it will just turn them black or ultra brown.

l am only asking because l don't really have the time to experiment, l have a week till my tounry, minus the days that l'm working so 4days that l can grab some time to do these.

Any advice is welcomed, thank you.

P.S l had a 3 part Water and 2 part Flesh Wash in my head, but some suggesstions are welcomed.

Well it's 12:30am and l should be done by 1am (last day before the tounry) all l have to do is flock the direwolves bases and l can then have the fun of getting up at 7am to head off to the tounry!

Once l've played my first game l will try and get a pic of the completed force (got a little more then 1k l decided to complete batches of models, thought it silly to just paint 5 Fell Hawks, so l painted em all. )

3 Minor loses, 1 draw and a masscare ! *chuckles*

l'm famous for being incredibilty unlucky with my die rolls, we (it was a doubles game) face the so called unlucky guys from up noth, and they are the ones who scored a masscare against us, by turn 3 l was laughing so hard.

Ahh well *chuckles* l love the army but it doesn;t like me *grins*
