Varghulf
The unit of Zombies along with units raised by magic managed to hold up a flank for the entire game both games. The unit of GG took some heavy fire and were almost smegged by a lucky Hellblaster round of shooting but the regen save and the ability to raise them meant that when they crashed into a unit spears they were as good as new.
The Vamp Lord was the man of the match though, he worked with the Varghulfs and got a combined charged on a Unit of Griffon Swordsmen, after the intitial charge the unit had taken around 7 casualties from the Hand of Dust and then another 16 wounds from combat after popping flaming sword. In the next turn the Vamp Lord was charged by 5 Knights intent of revenge but thanks to the nightshroud he managed to cut all 5 down before they got to strike.
I was really impressed with his set up but it kind of depends on getting flaming sword up and I was worried when the GG took lots of hits from shooting but they really steamrolled when they got going. The same also goes for the small unit of core troops. I was pretty much reliant on raising more through magic early doors.
I love the Varghulfs, they move pretty quick and hit hard and I just think regen rocks. I dont mind paying the points cost as they seem to stick around for a while.
