This thread is to track and remind that Reputation Points and comments need migrating over

Reputation addon purchased and undergoing testing.

Slight problem in that with the addon, all reputations have to be associated with a post (unlike MyBB where that could be left blank). I will likely get around this by just creating a dummy post to associate the reps to.

May I suggest we integrate this with the existing "like" feature? They seem to work fairly similarly, except you can't leave a reason for "liking" a post.

I was one away from 13 rep. So close to unlocking the Number of the Great Horned Rat achievement!

Haven't played with the Like feature yet. I assume it's like reddit's upvote counter?

I haven't played with it much myself, but the add-on I linked drastically improves its functionality.

That add on does look awesome but maybe a little complex.
With luck though it will just improve the amount of banter in the community.

Well as long as all the numbers for rep are still recorded i suppose, just want to check, was trading feedback recorded as well for rep there?
Not many used it but Me, Santa and a few others did like U_M for when doing our dealings on the site.

I've never been a fan of reputation and like features. I feel that they very easily become popularity contests about personality and friends 'liking' their friends because of who they are, rather than the content of a post.

That said, if we are to have such a feature, then the mod that DoN has linked to does look good. My only suggestion would be to ensure that a reason has to be given to explain why a post was 'liked' (assuming it's possible to make giving a reason compulsory - it was unclear from reading the mod whether this can be achieved), and perhaps removing the option to give negative 'dislikes', as it seems better to me to focus on positivity than negativity.

Personally I think that mod is too complex for what we need. My earlier suggestion was that we somehow change the like system to allow people to give a reason (if possible of course), and thus it would be easier to reintroduce the old reputation points. Then again, this wouldn't allow people to give general "likes" not based on a single post - maybe it would be possible to have some sort of like button on the profile page? (Or even better, the popup profile page you get when clicking on someone's username)

At the moment I can't find any plugins that support giving reputations direct to a user, they all are based on linking to a post.

Well lets hope we do manage to get them back in a comment context.
Reason being not only for the trading feedback but members who did not have enough posts to leave it often just left me and others rep as well explaining.
It was good to know who was on the money so to speak.
