Next expansion to Total Warhammer has been announced, bringing in Nagash and launching into the End Times. The trailer depicts a number of scenes direct from End Times: Nagash, including the climax of the Battle at Nine Daemons where Arkhan (deliberately) and Mannfred (accidentally) revive Nagash, the calling of the Mortarchs (seven are explicitly shown in the trailer: Arkhan, Mannfred, Neferata, Vlad, Krell, Luther, & Wallach - Dieter and the Nameless haven't been seen yet), and the humbling of Settra / lifting of the Black Pyramid. So seems like they're being reasonable faithful to the Cannon- at least that of the GW campaign books, maybe less so the Black Library novelizations. That kind of loyalty is great when it comes to End Times: Nagash, which was fantastic. Hopefully they'll decide / be allowed to stray a bit more from the canon by the time they get to Khaine.

Speaking of, It's not clear yet whether this expansion will exclusively cover End Times: Nagash, with later End Times content and characters left for future expansions, or whether Nagash & his campaign will only be one part of this expansion, With other End Times stuff included here but not yet revealed.

Overall it looks pretty good. I'm not a big fan of the voice for Nagash - I much prefer the voice from the "Hunt for Nagash" audio book series way back at the start of AoS, less 'scarry growly monster' and more 'vain imperious megalomaniac' - both cartoon villains but the latter at least having a bit more personality and character. But whatever, it works well enough. And everything at least *looks* as good as you'd expect it to for this franchise, it really is Old Warhammer Fantasy brought to life.

As for how it will play.... the Total Warhammer games are a scaffolding of jank built on a foundation of jank over three titles and dozens of expansions all haphazardly stapled together. I expect it will continue to suffer from poor performance and questionable stability, but to still be worth the struggle to run it for oldhammer fantasy fans. The dev studio announced that starting in their next games they'll ~finally~ be moving to a new engine, but that can't save this expansion, and I doubt we'll see them remake TW:W from scratch any time soon.
