hi,
im looking for a way to convert a unit of wraiths without the price tag does anyone have any ideas or pictures, advice or help if so please post

What are you trying to do? Do you have a specific theme in mind, do you just want something out of the ordinary, or are you trying to get wraiths without buying any models?

if your looking for not spending money on the metal models you can use tomb kings or skele warriors and make them green stuff robes.

if you are trying to make them with out spending anything on models you will need to use greenstuff.

You all know the funny thing is, is that you would have to spend a lot of money on greenstuff and time too! It would be a waste in my opinion if it is all about money. However, if it is all about making something new then use a skeleton body and sculpt a cape over it. I would suggest just looking at youtube or something for some good ideas on how to do it.

if i was to by 2 small packs of skellies ( 5 clicky ones) how many packs o green stuff would i need
coz i have no experience at all with green stuff
or should i just by the models ( this is money issues)

If you are not too bothered by using non-GW models, you could try Black Tree minis (currently have a sale on):

or

(I particularly tike and am using some of the Spectres as wraiths)

Empire Flagellants with skeleton heads and scythes from the zombie box would work. Just make sure to cut off their feet as they would look wierd.

You could even sculpt hoods and tattered sleeves if you're feeling confident.

Really if you've never tried to work with Greenstuff, you have to mix some and then go after it. Your first one won't look good. The second will get better and by the third time you should be a pro at making those cloaks.

Just do it and it will look great!

Honestly I think it would be a waste taking time to convert miniatures such as skeletons to wraiths, as if your conversion skills are not up to scratch they will end up looking poorly, and in all honestly wraiths are fairly in expensive.

hmm.. But you can use almost any model! Just pick a few with Great Swords (Bestigor Herds, Executioners, Miners, Imperial greatswords, Swords of Hoeth, etc etc) and paint them ethernal. Add an old hag who can scream or a musician and voila; you're ready.

basicly there is no way to do it for free you are going to have to spend something on them weather it be on stuff to convert or the actual models...my suggestion is if you car no good at making green stuff robes just buy the models...or if you have a local game store that has prize supported tournaments win a few of them and get the models for free. how the austin stores do this is you win 1st place you get x dollar amount and you get to get to pic your stuff off the shelves dont know if any place else like a gw store does that as austin is all localy owned.

what do you pay for them nowadays? 12 euro for 2?

To be honest it's hard to get any cheaper than getting those models.

If you follow my link above, and are willing to use non-GW, you can get considerably better value (around £1 / 1.25 euro) per mini.

I am using the spectres in my army as wraiths (got a boxed set )
