This is a poll to see the general consensus on whether or not Skeletons have a place in the Zombie Pirates list.

Once you have placed your vote, or if you are uncertain about your position on the issue, please discuss it below.

I think that the Skeletons are a key unit in any form of Vampire army. They are the harder, faster, and stronger Core Unit. Not having them would be like only being able to field Goblins in the O&G army. I'm not saying it has to be a unit that is completely rooted into the backround, I'm just saying that we should at least have the option of fielding them.

That, or we'll need a unit that's like skeletons. Something a little more... Durable than Zombies.

Alexos, remember that the Zombie Pirates are much stronger than normal zombies due to their superior statline and their upgrade options.

Having said no to skeletons though, I think we do need some form of 'tough' unit. Currently we've mainly got zombies, which while upgradeable are still zombies.

Maybe as a rare choice 0-1 we could include some form of skeleton crew?

I thought we was going to have zombies that had become encrusted with barnacles etc, kinda like the men out of the PotC? They would make a tougher unit.

Hello Gentlemen,

This is as good a place as any to begin contributing to this project. Zombies all the way, no skeletons. That being said...even with the proposed upgrades our zombies are still terrible. With the changes of 8th edition it would be something to seriously consider looking to the WD Zombie Pirates of old (strength and toughness 3) and taking a hint or I think this project may run the risk of never being fieldable if one hopes to win on occasion.

I would propose a zombie with the same stats as the skeletons actaully something that can be used as a stand in. Maybe more decomposed zombies, who are not as stiff in there movement. But I agree this is zombie pirates not skeleton pirates. But that is just my 2 cents could even do a stand in for ghouls perhaps with just a zombie name. People all the time do conversions from other armies as diffrent things. So why not fluffwise(new name) on current unit's with great conversions on top of that and we got a ghoul or skeleton unit with keeping with the theme.

The idea of this list is to come up with new units, not to make exact copies of VC units with a new name and look. The list's zombie pirates are already a solid core choice with all their options. Combine that with the other special units and it should be fine without ghouls or skellies.
