So I tried charging a unit of 5 demi gryphs monstrous cav. They would have taken that unit out, however bad dice rolls got me on that one. I also tried to charge them into the flank of a horde of great swords. They had steadfast so they didn't break. The crumble got me on that one.

No they were right on the flank and they got into combat. They should have smashed the units they got into combat with... and they just didn't.
