I think you need the enclosure. Too much harsh light flattens schemes and it's difficult to give meaningful advice when one doesn't actually know what the model looks like.
I still have my seventh edition Gamer's Bag dice. I tend to save them for characters' attacks, spellcasting rolls and so on and so forth. No particular reason (they don't roll higher or anything), they just look more... epic.
I'm not talking about Wolves moving like Hexwraiths. I'm talking about the role Wolves can play in granting hard cover to key pieces, which they have to do differently because they're not the same unit type.
Also, if people are shooting at cheap and nasty Dire Wolves instead of things I...
I don't disagree, but do you happen to know where this is actually set down in the rulebook/errata? I'm looking at the army selection rules now (pages 134 - 135) and it doesn't seem to be there, and it's not in the bit about character mounts either (it'd be weird if it was since that comes...
For what it adds in terms of hit randomisation, the Corpse Cart takes a lot away in terms of profile. I prefer my Necromancers skulking and hard to draw line of sight to in the first place.
To do it properly you need to go much lighter on magic items and vampire powers than I like to. It also becomes fiddlier in the game sizes I like to play*, so it's less viable as an approach.
* - I've read the eighth edition rules back and forth, but only actually played a few games so far, so...
Then it can't.
This is why they make errata documents - to correct errors in rules text.
I wouldn't play it like that myself, of course, but in the event of a dispute, I wouldn't actually have a leg to stand on and would have to back down.
I don't think playing with the cover mechanics is a stupid idea. We lack the skirmishing bunker units necessary to really achieve all that can be achieved here, but a -2 to hit is a -2 to hit, and an opponent sinking spells or firepower into a screen is an opponent expending resources on...
I second this. As far as I'm aware, 'real' black things are actually very dark shades of another colour anyway, blue and brown being most common (most of the Citadel greys are desaturated blues, are they not?).
I did the dark brown/off-white thing with my Black Templars army rather than going...
If I were FAQing it (did I ever tell y'all I applied for a job with GW, editing the WFB rules?), I'd say the Flag can save against direct damage spells but not against hexes.
I'd be cautious about awarding the save against hexes as they don't follow any part of the usual WFB rubric for attacks...
The answer to the whole 'where would the poor be buried' question depends on how historical your take on the Warhammer World is. There's a lot that can be derived from real burial customs, but not all of it necessarily makes for good scenery (charnels and ossuaries tend to be indoors or...
