The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
Chaos warriors/knights aren't just chaos worshiping humans, though. They weren't in fantasy, but they ~especially~ aren't in AoS. Marauders/cultists/darkoath are chaos worshipping humans - and blood knights are way toughter/deadlier than they are. Chaos warriors though aren't just Marauders...
If we could extend the time limit by another week or soI would appreciate it - the entry I meant to submit will not be ready. I thought I'd be able to get painting done while dog sitting but that just hasn't been a thing.
If people would prefer to end on the 23rd, though, I have something else...
As I posted over on tga, I especially have to push back on the idea that blood knights look bad here. They've honestly barely changed at all, less so than I would have expected, especially when you consider that armor saves across the board in 4e are likely to be lower due to generally reduced...
As I said in the other thread, I'm kind of surprised by this sentiment. Like, I could see being non-plussed or underwhelmed, there's fewer changes to be interested in here than in OBR or Nighthaunt, and while FEC is in a similar boat of 'just a 4eified version of the current rules' they at...
Vhargheists seem terrible you mean? Because that I agree with. Blood Knights actually look pretty good to me. specialized - they want to be charging, and they want to be charging infantry specifically - but very good in that role.
Otherwise, I'm really surprised to hear negative sentaments...
Something I forgot to mention: one of my (less popular) wishes for SBGL, that cursed city stuff gets kicked to legends, does NOT seem to be happening. Radubeast's scroll specifically mentions units of Vykos Blood-Borne, and Raduwolf, his Nightguard, and Gorslav are all shown in the above army shot.

soulblight article looks alright. No mechanics for bloodlines expected but sad. faction traits alright, mostly the expected stuff changed in expected ways. gravesites gone. battle...
Faction Focus: Soulblight Gravelords is confirmed for tomorrow. I'm reasonably hype, the focuses for the other undead factions have all been reasonably positive, heavy nerfs to Necropolis Stalkers not withstanding. Soulblight is my most painted army by a good stretch, so it'll probably be my...
upon reflection, stalkers look worse snd worse. while rend 2 is nice, overall damage for the unit seems less than a unit of kavalos, & almost certainly less than 10 mortarch guard, while losing their charge ability cuts hard into their mobility.
And while offense in general has been reigned in...
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/06/07/warhammer-age-of-sigmar-faction-focus-ossiarch-bonereapers/
Ok, this is a big one. In 3e, Bonereapers were mechanically defined by their immunity to battleshock and extra command points plus extra commands to use them with. Before that they were...
Good luck! I'll be excited to hear how they do.
My own first games will be Soulblight, since that's what I've got most painted. So long as their index is at least ok I'll stick with them till I have a decent 2k points together, after that (or after just the spearhead if I don't like their...
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/05/31/warhammer-age-of-sigmar-faction-focus-flesh-eater-courts/
Faction Focus for FEC went up end of last week. I was curious going into this one. As late as the 3e FEC book was, you would expect it to have been designed with 4e rules in mind, so the...
One thing I got wrong in my initial assessment is that I wrongly thought the 'nighthaunts can charge even if they're already in combat' ability was once per game. It is not. All nighthaunt units can do that every turn, which dramatically reduces the importance of retreat and charge. Retreat &...
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/05/24/warhammer-age-of-sigmar-faction-focus-nighthaunt/
The nighthaunt article is... interesting. The faction abilities are significantly toned down, with their charge debuffs limited to one each per turn and also restricted in what units can inflict...
Welcome Edgard! 6e was classic times. Doubt I remember it well enough to be helpful, but I'd certainly be interesting in hearing how your experiences run.
I wanted a topic that would lend itself to the new small game format for AoS 4e, but also vague/broad enough that it could be interpreted other ways.
I've got an entry I'm working on, should have it in a presentable state by the due date.
Dwarfs are in a difficult place. Where most factions are defined primarily by their strengths, dwarfs are defined at least as much by their weaknesses, and those weaknesses are BAD weaknesses in this version of the game. Like, what's hot right now? Big flying monsters, max level mage lords...
revised list looks pretty good. I'd probably trade the black knights for 30 zombies plus five more dire wolves or a couple fell bats.
Or maybe trade the black knights for just 25 zombies, no extra wolves, & use the spare points to bulk out the vamp lord's spellcasting now that they're not...
