    Mounted Vampires

They're not in print any longer, but the 6th ed GW vampires (except the Strigoi) were all sculpted both on foot and mounted. For whatever reason, only the Blood Dragons actually wore armor, so those are probably the ones you'd want. They shouldn't be too hard to find on ebay.

Slime it! Your plog fills me with joy. I love Rogue Trader era models.

    Zombies: Bus or No Buss?

I think the problem here is largely with the nomenclature. I here "horde," and I think, "Zombies. Zombies belong in hordes. It's their natural state, how they exist in the wild." But then I consider the rules and realize it's a trap. I wish they'd called hordes something else.

Nagash stronger than Teclis and Malekith according to the HE Book

You're right, they'd rather just rewrite it over and over again. I personally really don't like the current version of the backstory. I thought that the vampires opposing Nagash made them more multi-dimensional and self-willed. I also thought it made more sense logically: if Nagash...

    Santa's Workshop : NSFW Kharn

RE: Pirates of the Sunken Sea,:Nsfw Dire Sharks of doom I really like the idea of using sharks as dire wolves, but I'm confused about how they're propelling themselves towards their prey. Are they flying? Flopping? (Flying sharks or flopping zombie sharks could both be pretty creepy.)...

Privateer Press/ Hordes models too big?

They're the same scale, though they tend big in the same way that 40k models tend big. If you're picking up the models, why not give the game a shot too? Warmachine/Hordes is a lot of fun. If you're feeling particularly motivated, you can magnetize the bases so you can use the models for both.

    Wow. These are fantastic.

Musing on the ecological viablity of ghouls

Interesting. That's quite different from the background in the Liber Necris. It does neatly bypass any question of how ghouls perpetuate themselves, if they are made rather than born. It also means that Morr is a busy god indeed to be cursing all of these people. So if I was a power hungry...

Musing on the ecological viablity of ghouls

So I've been thinking about ghouls, and I've been wondering how they function ecologically. I looked up a few numbers, but they're hardly from accredited sources. I'm hoping you guys can help fill in the blanks here. We have to make a lot of assumptions. Some are easy. We can reasonably...

    Large warped base

Thanks! I'll try the water method again before I resort to calling GW, if only because if it works I'll have a functional base sooner than otherwise. (Unless you think they'd send me an entire Terrorgheist..?) Of course, I have a fair amount of coffee to drink before I can use my coffee pot for...

    Large warped base

I've been worked on a Mortis Engine, and have discovered that the base is severely warped and won't lay flat. I tried coating the underside in glue and then pressing it flat. (That sounds weird, I know, but doing something to balance out the tension of paint on canvases and panels on the...

Don't stop here! This is bat country.

Guys, thankyou so much for the kind words. You've totally given me the warm & fuzzies. It's all freehand brush work. Right now I'm using a Windsor & Newton Series 7. I picked up my fine detail brush to check the size for you, but apparently all the lettering has been rubbed off the handle. I...

Don't stop here! This is bat country.

I've been pretty distracted from my vampire counts working on my dark eldar and some other projects lately, but my girlfriend just gave me a mortis engine for my birthday. So now that I'm thinking about ethereal things, here's some photos of my banshee and spirit hosts that I took a while back...

Don't stop here! This is bat country.

Thanks! It's old GW Shadow Grey (according to this close equivalents would be new GW's The Fang or Vallejo's game color Sombre Grey). It's washed with a mix of blue and brown ink wash. (I think I was using Vallejo's brown but I'm still using GW's old Asurmen Blue until I run out of it. Honestly...

Ravenstein Castle - Chaplain Dreadnought WIP 2

RE: Ravensteins Workshop - Carrion Skull Resin Carving added 03/04/13 Heh, I tried my hand at sculpting a bird skull recently too. I think yours came out a lot better. This is gorgeous work and I think one of the best plogs I've seen. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more.

Don't stop here! This is bat country.

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, the banners are freehand. I work out what I want them to look like on scrap paper first, but beyond that, yeah, it's just brushwork.

Don't stop here! This is bat country.

Hey all. I burned out converting ghouls, so I haven't done a lot with Fantasy recently, but here's an old Daemonette that I painted up for the fun of it. [/img]

    Unable to post with Firefox

Looks like it was an addon. And not one I wanted, either - I need to get in the habit of periodically checking that nothing's attached itself to my browser. Thanks.
