Hey,
yeah, I got a bunch of email notifications and I decided to check the old place. It's nice to see that you are stirring some things up here.
As for me, I am indeed doing some hobby stuff but it's all done at a glacial pace. Then, even if I manage to finish something, it probably isn't...
This thread is for the general discussion of the Guide Article: Borgnine's Verdigris/Patina Tutorial - with pictures. Please add to the discussion here.
Please give the article a thumbs up if you find it useful!
Long time ago I was experimenting a lot with getting just the right combination for painting patina / verdigris on my models - and that was before Nihilakh Oxide was a thing. Eventually I got the thing right, wrote down the recipe and...
I really like the Crimson Court, it is a nice comeback to WFB vampires. Guy in the red armor could be a modernized Vlad and the one with the big mace looks almost like Mannfred. I am definitely getting those!
@Theerteen Actually playing the game surely does stimulate some dedication ;)
@robtion Thanks! I'd hate to turn my enjoyable hobby into a profession - I tend to dislike work no matter what it is ;)
@The Brotherhood of Necros many thanks, those are indeed very nice! And no need to limit...
Hey there everyone,
the activity here is drying out and the competition follows suit... I extended the deadline to whenever there are at least two entries, I don't see the reason to try giving a concrete date.
Real life happened and I haven't painted anything for two months already, I'm just...
The new competition is up if anyone is interested :) Sorry for the Tardiness.
@Unas the slayer I looked at the Lustria site and it is indeed active and defies the death that many forums face nowadays, it seems like someone properly managed it into Age of Sigmar. DoN here had some ideas how to...
Late as always, but not yet dead...
As agreed between me and @robtion , winners of the previous one, the topic for our new competition is 'The Beauty and the Beast'! As it is usually with the more 'poetic' of our topics, this one is rather open to interpretation, but mostly it's about some kind...
For December2019/January2020 we had a 'Christmas Carol' theme and we've had two winners:
@robtion - Were-ghulf the red nose werewolf
Were-ghulf the red nose werewolf,
Had a very bloody nose,
And if you ever saw it,
It would be during death throes.
All of the other Varghulfs,
Used to laugh...
Once again we are going with the voting phase of our little competition - still feeling some holiday spirit! Maybe some people managed to get some actual snow in this time ;)
The current topic is 'A Christmas Carol, as proposed by @Shadespyre . This means that every entry was supposed to go...
@Unas the slayer I didn't hear anything from anyone, so this is probably as far as it goes. I am just waiting for you to decide on the name of that song
You've actually put a red nose on that werewolf! Goddamnit, that's too good @robtion !
In the meantime, I finished a Star Player for Blood Bowl and decided to make him christmasy - which fits with all the bells and jingles he has around him ;) He even has a nice red hat made out of greenstuff...
@Count Drebin As far as we'd like some updates in this thread, please refrain from Threadomancy - seeing how Drachenfels didn't visit the site since 2014, chances are he won't be back anytime soon - and asking such questions in the thread won't give you any answers. If you'd like to contact him...
I guess it's finally time to finish the project of Varsavian Bogatyrs, various hero-sized characters that I made for my Undead army - you can see their WIP versions HERE.
After Yarema, Drachitsa and Drazhan, now I present you Vekoslav the Beautiful, the proud Battle Standard Bearer for the...
@Theerteen seconding here, that IS indeed so cool! Maybe you should get some tips from that friend and share them for the betterment of the society! ;)
@Shadespyre those giants look super cool and mixed skintones make them look more interesting in my opinion ;) And that display board looks very...
