If you don't know who the King in Yellow is, go wiki him right now. Now that you do, this army is based thematically on the the King in Yellow. *Side Note: for those of you who care, the spider themed army is almost up and running, I just need a model that will take three more weeks to arrive. Why GW WHY!!!* I am using the Mark of Slaanesh to represent the Mark of The King In Yellow (or Hastur as he is commonly known, although he is never referred to directly as Hastur in the original Chambers). Here we go:

1500 Beasts of Chaos

Mark of Slaanesh
Heavy Armor
Shield
Crown of Everlasting Conquest

Wargor 169

I´d rather have the armour of damnation than the crown, it´s so expensive (dont remember exactly) and a great weapon would be nice aswell. Either that or at least give armour of damnation to your BSB, he looks very fragile.

That bestigor unit surely is expensive, what is you plan with it? Having your general and BSB in there?

As for the shaman, as you only have one magic user I´d advice you to give him just a braystaff, level 1 and a couple of scrolls. You wont get much off with just one level 2 bray-shaman.

Herds: generally its better to have more ungors than gors. That way they will soak up enemy shooting aswell as making the herds cheaper, but it´s all about having the models too.

Split the centigors into 2 units of 5.

As for hounds vs chariot, I´d get the chariot. In case you take the hounds, again, 2 units of 5.

I was thinking Gaze of the Gods would be a good replacement (seeing as he's immune to psychology and won't be fleeing during his magic phase). Crown is 50, Gaze is 30. Then maybe chaos armor or crimson armor.

I suppose I don't need the Beast Banner..., but it really will be nice against all of those High Elves that are in the local league.

You bet I am.

Well, won't get anything off if he's level one... I'll try it out though.

Eh, okay... Killing stuff isn't what ungors do very well. You can change your beastherds into spearmen if you like.

I'd like to make up for the rank my beastherds don't get in combat.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind.

Well, he can be broken in combat, if he doesnt rally (ld 7 isnt fantastic) in your round, you´ll get an extra spawn . Armour of damnation is nice because if he doesnt hit you, he cant harm you.

You bet I am.

That bestigor unit will be number one target. Hits hard, but is very vulnerable in itself im afraid.

He´s a scroll caddy, he isnt supposed to get anything off .

No, but they are good at dying. Now all missiles will hit your gors, leaving you with just the ungors. And like you said, killing stuff isnt what ungors do very well.

I'd like to make up for the rank my beastherds don't get in combat.

Lose one and that rank is gone, better to have them in two units and get the max ammount of attacks out of them.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind.

You are most welcome.

You may want to ask on The Herdstone, which is to Beastmen what CN is to Vampire Counts:

Bwha? Awesome! Thanks, I didn't know.

That's not a bad Beasts list that.

I personally prefer combined arms Chaos to any single facet, but I can see how this army would work. My concern is that your Bestigor are your only really rock-hard unit and unless you're planning on playing a very tight refused flank/centre/march-up-one-bit-of-the-field-and-spank-whatever's-there (which is the way I won most of my games with Chaos - forgetting usually costs you the day) then they might struggle a bit. I'd drop the Centigors - they're too unreliable to hold down that gig - and work in something nasty on 40mm bases. Not sure what would fit your theme best - I can see where you're going with the Slaaneshiness and the banner, but the rest of the army seems largely tangential, unless I'm missing something about those Centigors - so I'm just going to suggest Dragon Ogres because I like them.

Oh, and ignore the naysayers with the "he'll never get a spell off" rambling. I would trade his Dispel Scroll out for a Power Stone, in all honesty, so that you stand a reasonable chance of using the Staff of Darkoth at the inevitable crucial moment.

Conceptually, you've opened a can of worms, which is good. Several people, myself included, equate The King in Yellow with Dionysus. Hence the Centigors. I really should have expounded more on that earlier. I was thinking about Chaos Spawn, or perhaps a giant (with beastman conversions). I'm not a fan of most of the other stuff on the list.

Ah yes, the inevitable crucial moment. I'll give that power stone a shot and see how it works out.
