1500 Doubles list help

I have a 1500pt doubles tournament coming up in a few months and could do with some help. We were planning on going double O&Gs but the way things are going I may not be ready in time so I need to start on a vampire list instead.

The key comp points are :- no units starting with more than 30 models, can't duplicate partners magic items, PD have to be split evenly between partners, special characters are allowed and most importantly any VC players will have to have one of their characters as the teams army general.

I'm not sure of my friends orc list yet but it will probably include 30 SOBU's and one of each war machines.

I have access to all units but I'm struggling with this so any ideas would be really appreciated.

I'd drop kemmler for a MN with a scroll and ward save.
-drop 5 wolves for more skellies, give them more survivability.
-For me personally, I would take CH's over varghiests. Dropping the big unit and one fell bat nets you 8 with a champion. They give you a solid center to work with. The other varghiests, fell bats and TG are all the speed you need.

Thanks for the reply. The comp means I cant start the skellies at more than 30. I'm also hoping that my partner will take the scroll saving me the points Is this better?

That would leave me with 67pts?

A 4th varghiest and another fell bat if you have them. Split the bats into two units of two.
