Hey everyone,

Just got into the VC after buying up the remnants of a friend's army. Lucky timing too, as now I get to take advantage of all the new rules and kits!

Here's what I'm thinking for my first 1k army to work towards. Looking at it, a main concern is the cost. That's a lot of zombie boxes to buy and that's not even counting the raised zombies! I'm thinking of throwing in some unit fillers as well as models from my other armies to help bulk it out a bit. I'm sure ungor and gnoblars can be raised as zombies....

Tactically, well, I'm hoping the three levels of magic should keep the zombies alive and kickin' while the graveguard stab at things. I was trying to squeeze a vargulf in for the mobility/killingness but thought two characters would likely be better.

Any advice would be appreciated as I've never played much against the VC, and never played with them yet. Too many zombies and not enough killable things is what I'm worried about right now. Also any tips on where I should put that necromancer. I'm not sure he's all that safe in a unit, but is probably just as bad off standing around!

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

(PS, hope I posted this right. I've never seen the list builder thing before!)

Making 1k lists is difficult at best for VC. The list looks reasonable though. Good luck with the list. Let us know how it works out for you and what problems you encounter. Then you can tweak it if needed.

Remember you can only spend 25% points on heros at 1k, you surpass this amount as you spend 392 points on them.

Actually he's perfectly fine, as the Master Necro goes into the 25% lord allowance and the vamp is in the hero department. The list is definitely legal, but I'd still say for 1k you overspent on characters. I'd just run one and bulk up your units more. maybe get a Varghulf in there? At 1k he's quite a beast.

True story, I was still thinking 0 lords for 1k from the old book :S

Varghulf, vargheist if you need to haunt something, your army seems a bit static and those units will give you kind of mobility to perform some task on the battlefield.
