I have tabled my LoN project for the moment and turned my attention towards Vyrkos. I acknowledge that LoB is the most competitive but I want to try something different.

I have two Vyrkos builds that I am considering. One is very Hero heavy while the other is geared towards board control.

These are initial lists so obviously open to tweaking.

Thanks for taking a look!

List 1 - Hero Hammer

Warlord Detachment - extra artefact
Belladamma Volga - General, Ulfenkarni Phylactery, Spirit Gale, Spoor Trackers
Cado Ezechiar - Soulpike
Torgillius the Chamberlain - Standard of the Ulfenwatch, Waste Away
Corpse Cart - Unholy Lodestone, Lash

Battle Regiment Detachment
Radukar the Beast
40 Zombies
20 Zombies
20 Zombies

Vanguard Detachment
Ivya Volga
10 Dire Wolves

Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon - Deathlance, Flaming Weapon

Suffocating Gravetide (gives me a wide base endless spell to block movement, attack hordes)

1985, 8 drops

List 2 - Board Control

Command Entourage - extra artefact
Belladamma Volga - Ulfenkarni Phylactery, Soulpike
Torgillius the Chamberlain - Waste Away
Vampire Lord - General, Nightflyer Cloak, Driven by Deathstench

Battle Regiment
Necromancer - Fading Vigour, Tunnel Master
40 Zombies
20 Zombies
10 Skeletons
30 Dire Wolves - 3 Doom Wolves
Corpse Cart - Unholy Lodestone, Lash

Mortis Engine

20 Grave Guard - Great Wight Blades

Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws

1985, 6 drops

Good point on the number of drops. Also, for the first list I am thinking of dropping Ivya in favor of a necromancer with tunnel master. His role would be to score GC specific battle tactics. I do not think Ivya brings much to the list other than to pair with the VLOZD to kill something big.

Here is version 2 of the Hero Hammer list.

Warlord - extra artefact
Belladamma Volga - general, spirit gale, soulpike, ulfenkarni phylactery, spoor trackers
Torgillius the Chamberlain - waste away, fading vigour, standard of the ulfenwatch
VLOZD - flaming weapon, vile transference
Corpse Cart - unholy lodestone
3x Fell Bats

Command Entourage - extra spell
Cado Ezechiar - soulpike, spirit gale
Necromancer - prisoner of grief, waste away, tunnel master
Radukar the Beast

40 Zombies
20 Zombies
20 Zombies
10 Dire Wolves

1995, 12 drops - I think I am comfortable going first or second with this list. If going first, I can jump out on objectives early and try to pin my opponent in their territory. If going second, I can layer the screens to keep my characters safe and use to zombies to out-body on objectives with the characters supporting with magic and melee damage.

The question piece now is Radukar. I love the model but I am not sure if I really need him in the list. He is a great distraction piece but also a big investment in points.

I think you are too hero heavy. I would cut Radukar for 5 Bloodknights.
I tend to agree but most Vyrkos lists that I have seen lean heavily into character presence.

I am rethinking the whole list, mostly in terms of what I want to achieve on the tabletop.

I have not had much time to play in recent weeks, but I am turning my attention towards the next GHB in the hopes of getting some games in. This Vyrkos list is aimed at board control/move blocking with the GG as the single hammer unit. I am shying away from LoB as I suspect there will be some significant nerfs in store given their current win rate.

Vyrkos - Lust for Domination, Indomitable 1985pts, 206 wounds

Command Entourage - Magnificent (extra atrifact)
Belladamma - Vile Transference, Ulfenkarni Phylactery
Necromancer - General, Spoor Trackers, Fading Vigour, Standard of the Ulfenwatch
Torgillius - Waste Away

Battle Regiment 1
Vampire Lord - Spirit Gale
40 Zombies
20 Zombies
Corpse Cart - Unholy Lodestone
Myrmourn Banshees

Battle Regiment 2
Vampire Lord - Soulpike, Tunnel Master
40 Zombies
20 Zombies
10 Dire Wolves
Corpse Cart - Unholy Lodestone
20 Grave Guard - Great Wight Weapons

1985 gives me a decent chance at gaining the triumph. I like to sit the zombies on objectives and make my opponent attack into me to clear them off. With a 5+ ward, recursion, and mortal wounds on death they take effort to clear out. The 20 zombie blocks either provide additional layers of screening or pop out of grave sites. The characters are all in a support role to buff/debuff as required. The Tunnel Master VL jumps in to support the GG when they go in to attack.

I wouldn't call it funny, but that's a nasty list!
