only thought i have is drop one powerstone and Walach's get flayed and lvl 4 lord- it costs 5 points more but its 1 more PD and a much better AS- and if you bunker him(recomended) he wont have to dodge stray str ten d3 wound cannon shot only time you really want ward. also 2 balefires is freaking mean - think about it!

The lord is level four - level 3 + dark Acolyte.

Love the idea of two balefires, but the +1 to is too useful, especially for taking all the skellies to 25+.

With so many power dice I'd drop some of the skelletons (maybe to 15 each unit) and some zombies: you will be invoking them. I'd try to scratch the points to put a fast unit: 5 black knights, a varghulf or the wraiths. I think it will help you in neutralising some units and will give you some tactical chances, since with just 5 huge slow infantry blocks and the carts you can be outshot and outmaneuvred quite easily. I don't think the balefire is necessary in this list, your best defense is to rerise anything your opponent kills in the magic phase. I'd rather put some scrolls in case your opponent manages to cast a difficult spell with a high score.

My mistake you had previously listed all your vamps as lvl 2 and having the dark acolyte upgrade, so i assumed you added that into your level listing- your edit has rectified that.

This list looks strikingly similar to the list I ran when our new book was released. It does well. Usually, infantry blocks bolstered by magic is what wins games for VC so it is logical to make an entire army based on that concept. However, I found it quickly boring to play.

The list looks solid as a premise, although I would equip my characters differently (although, everyone has their own thoughts on the ideal set up - which is wonderful), make that Wight King a BSB (he is screaming to be made one, especially in a 'moving-castle' army), and shudder at the thought of giving Zombies anything resembling a command structure.

If it doesn't compromise your playstyle, I would really try and do yourself a favour and spice the army up a bit. Even throwing a unit or two of Wolves in there would grant an extra dynamic to the list. Although I supposed what is perceived as 'fun' can be sacrificed in favour for the 'effective' in a Tournament. Be sure to tell the forum how it goes for you.

I like your army list. Can u please explain a little how it is played out? Do you generaly cask IoN with 1 dice or 2? Do you kind of turtle in the depolyment zone and just try to out last your opponent? How do you generaly Depoly this army, close together in the middle? or shovel over in a corner? or perhaps set up for your GG in a offensive position?

Sloooow! But me likey :D. As said by The Inspector, you could always add two units of 5 wolves. And please, take out those standards from the zombies! They are made to die, and without giving those extra +100 VP!!

Also, if you mount your WK (with barding) to get him a 2+ AS and make him BSB, you'll earn a lot of win points :D. I usually run this combo and it does wonders!!

The easiest answer is "that depends"! But that's not the whole case.

My set up is usually based on a simple concept;

Zombies Skeletons Skeletons Zombies
CC(Bale) Grave Guard CC(Unholy)

My Vampire Lord and Wight King go in with the grave guard, though sometimes I mix it up and put them in a skeleton unit, which I then IoN to 30+.

Against combat armies I try and create new zombie units. The opponent has to wade through extra tar pits as well as risk getting flank charged. Against gun lines I try and VHD as quickly as possible across the board and create Zombie cover. Zombie thrall attempts to create two 10+ zombie units in turn 1/2, depending on the magical strength of the opponent.

I cast IoN on one dice as it tends to save on dice.
