Hi I've got this list working up and haven't had an opportunity to get a game in yet, while i am quite happy with the number of units im just wondering about the wraiths (maybe BC?) and a bit of the characters

Lord with hauberk, sword of might, level 4, lord of the dead and forbidden lore (He's here for the vampire lore of vampires and the casting bonus)

Vamp flayed hauberk, sword of striking and forbidden lore (going with light magic, WS & I 10 skeles or GG anyone?)

Vamp Dreadknight, summon creatures of the night, black periapt, balefire spike (For boosting the bats and dogs as a question do bats only get 1 wound now that they are beasts instead of d6?)

Wight King BSB SoK, night shroud the (generals bodyguard)

60 spear skeles FC, war banner (yay a horde!)

30 GG FC, Hw+S barrows (deployed either as a horde or as a steadfast negater)

CC with lodestone

5 direwolves (for a rediect)

3 Bats (warmachine hunters)

4 wraiths (go with the BC?)

as an aside i could drop the dread knight and make him another know it all spell caster (beasts) but I like the idea of having something S7 in the army

twenty odd views and no feed back? is it the perfect list? or does it suck that bad? xD

seriously though would it be better to have two know it all wizards and a level 4 or let the level 4 know all of the vamps?

I was thinking the other day that multiple vamps with forbidden lore would be great. One with light and one with beasts. Buff one unit to ridiculous levels with the beast and light buffs and go to town. Truly in my games the troops have been underwhelming to say the least and with the combat being even bloodier I have been loosing combats by huge numbers since the enemy is almost always striking first and they have two ranks attacking. Sure I get some swings back but limp wristed slaps are all they can dish out. So buffs for our troops is necessary. Plus imagine WS and I 10 and S+1 T+1, RAWR. I think I want it to go on Ghouls, but your mileage, fluff and models may vary.

Dire wolves just are not as good as they used to be, but then I am biased in that I never really liked them anyway, just don't fit my play style. But if you like 'em keep 'em.

Fell Bats used to be my favorite but now with needing to march to get the 20" move they are a little less spectacular. Needing the Vampire close by makes them drop a little in utility in my eyes. Also as you mentioned now that they are beasts they will only get one per casting not d6, if you were unscrupulous you could just conveniently ignore that but we will assume you are honorable. However I love my little GarGhouls and they are still finding their way into lists. They would do for warmachine duty, or for a re-director in a pinch.

Dreadknight doesn't seem to have any place to hide. With the new LOS you need a unit to hide/ cower in from the shooting. The days of hiding behind my Fell Bat screens are sadly over.

Thoughts as always are just that. Need to get a game in to see how it goes. The new edition is going to be an uphill climb for the vampires.

(Mr T voice) Thanks fool! xD I'll rejig my list to have two know it all lores and drop the DK, I'll just gamble with my level 4 getting what I need
