Hi

I've run a similar list to this in past. I had some problems.

1. With 3 nosferatu you're just not going to get enough MSU for a magic phase. Suggest one level 4 and one level 2 at most. Redundancy is good, but it's at the expense of support.

2. Everything is a speed bump except the Barrow Guard. This isn't necessarily bad, you just have to protect them well but you don't have a lot of flank support other than your massive units and your court.

3. Suggest something like a Varkolak to protect flanks and hunt war machines. It will supplement the court well.

I'd love to hear a battle report as the success of this list will depend heavily on your opponent. I feel like an O&G or Deamon list would be crushed by this but an elf list would tear it apart.

Good luck, looks like a great fun list to play.

@Dark Lord Necrotis

I can agree with Leithel. You have a bit too much spent in magic and will have a hard time getting the value back since you are limited in magic dice. Even with Blood magic and the staff you still have a bit too many spells. You also haven’t taken a Blood Power on the Courtiers, which is a bit of a waste, the same can be said about not taking a Arcane item on the necromancer. I would change the wizards in the hero section to be as follows:

Vampire Courtier @195
Nosferatu Bloodline
Arcane Knowledge
Level 2 Shadows
Dispel Scroll
Talisman of Lesser Shielding

Necromancer @110
Level 1 Necromancy
Obsidian Rock
Shielding Scroll

The Arcane Knowledge is a very useful power imo, and even though Path of Shadow is generally considered to have good range, you still get some nice bonuses. Orb of Blackness also becomes better, as it is normally limited to max 24" range. Invocation of the Undead also gets a boost, a 9" bubble casting at 5+ is incredible some times. However, perhaps the biggest strength is the attribute, Shadow Step. With range 18" it becomes very useful. Your army doesn’t have that many targets for it as it is though, but add a Varkolak or two and you are golden. A dark Coach could also be very nice. Just remember that the spell is not as useful on Large Targets.

Thanks guys. I have modified the list but I had the two vampire courtiers to give me variety with Necromancy and Shadow. I would have the right spell for the right situation for my grave guard.

I'm not sure how much 9th you've played, but relying on magic is like relying on a snowman to delivery your mail.

That said, I'd love a battle report to see how you went.

The only problem is that when we moved to Kenya for my wife's job, there was no one here to play. I wish I could play this list with someone online. Maybe Google Hangouts or something. The closest guy is someone in Tanzania play 9th age according to the 9th age player map on the site.

Ouch, tough that there's no one in Kenya to play with. Might be more people around than you know, perhaps try the forums on the 9th age site?

As for online play, do you know if universal battle supports 9th age? I know KoW players play on it all the time, 9th should work on it just fine. Check it out, might be a good solution to at least getting a game or two in.
