I was going to suggest that thread myself. I'd also recommend you PM Redarmy27 as he's pretty good with the whole airbrushing thing.
It really depends what you are wanting to do as to what is going to be best. For the amount you're going to be painting if you're using it for miniatures, I'd suggest a dual/double action, gravity fed brush. I'm currently looking myself only I haven't got the money or the justification to spend said money. This wiki page helped me to understand airbrushes so maybe it'll help you too. As for brands and what to get, I suggest speaking to Jake (Redarmy27). I'm personally looking to spend between £150-200 on mine.

If you haven't made your mind up yet, there is one single piece of advice I can give you if you have a budget:
Spend less on the airbrush pistol
Spend more on a decent compressor.
The compressor is A LOT more impoertant for smooth and consistent spraying action than your actual airbrush. I notice very little difference between my H&S silverline and the cheap IWATA clone I bought off e-bay.
I did notice a HUGE difference when my buddy asked me to show him a few tricks with the airbrush on his setup though. He went for the cheapest compressor he could find with a decent pistol (badger model 150, so no cheap thingy), but his gun just sprayed all over the place because the compressor sucked certain squishy parts of a donkey...

Agree completely with Elmir, also, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!! Do not experiment on models, experiment on terrain! There is a steep learning curve. I've been airbrushing for months now and I still pour over articles and videos.

- internal mix (air and paint get mixed inside the gun, makes for a smoother spray)
- dual action trigger (both airflow and paint amount can be regulated with the trigger, steeper learning curve, but superior system).

i found something in my own country (belgium)
it's a badger renegade velocity and a rage + compressor and hose.

Oh, if you live in Belgium (like I do 
), you can visit the Academia chain of stores to get some info. I prefer Heckler & steenbeck for a brand...
E-bay will be a ton cheaper however.
